Admittedly, I could (should?) have used the GIF of the kiss from Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty', but this one has Angelina Jolie in it! (I've always thought she was badass since 'Tomb Raider'.)
Regardless, both GIFs feature a fairytale, which ties into the conditional kiss I'll be teasing in this ramble.

Angelina Jolie as Tomb Raider should be a classic, I'm telling you! But R deserves the fairy tale romance they deserveee, why does it hurt so muuuch, is it because they are so skeptical about everything? I love them so muuuuch Lara is such a passionate person, but she believes there's nothing in her to love y.y She never found love, so how can love find her, if she's so blind for it? That's why she's so fucking obliviouuus y.y WHY IS THIS SO SAD? 2024-07-26 18:22:42 +0000 UTCBlaire, let me tell you, I was thinking of Noire while finishing up this post and considering GIFs! 🥰 His regal vibes along with the fantastical one of having that siren-like allure would make him at home in a fairytale, if that home was a waterside castle. 🏰💧 This is a happy coincidence for Noire and R; there will be references and a few choices to further revive/uncover R's view of romance. I'm looking intently at 'he's not sure if anyone would ever want something like that with him' along with what you've shared about some of Noire's past relationship experiences and then considering what R would do to decisively /prove/ otherwise. The grandness, the attention to detail, the drama, but most importantly R's need to reassure the Returning Visitor while in romance. This relates to something else. I once wrote about how a romanced R will often make an effort to say 'good morning'/'good night' to the MC to offer them acknowledgment that they were not always afforded. *stares in Ms. V's direction*. It's not as grand a gesture as what can be found in fairytales, but it is something we'll be starting to see in Book Two (it's also in Book One) as a small way R tries to show their care. 🥹 Anyway, I'm excited for you and Noire to experience this scene! 💚

I'm also living for how you guess who the post/writing might be about based on its title and ~vibe~. The fact that you've been tallying up the fairytale mentions is awesome; I've enjoyed slipping them into both the series and Patreon content. R's view on romance also decimates me, especially how the Returning Visitor can be the one to reawaken (/revive/) what they once cherished and held close to their heart that's become hidden, if not dismissed now. I believe a certain someone would happily accept that 'challenge', although R would take it much more personally once they realize Alex doesn't believe love is for them. 🖤 I'll be here if you need help triggering it, dw! I'm excited for you to read it too; it's longer with emotional build-up because of what R reveals to the MC and does. 🏰

2024-07-26 12:25:49 +0000 UTCSometimes, I do, yes. 🥹However, my tears will have dried after reading how Zarina and R can relate to each other, especially given Zarina's actor/The Diva (respectfully) background. I do think that allows for an understanding unlike any other without the pretense R might have with fellow bloodlines, so they could talk to her more freely. I agree that knowledge in certain books, plays, and even operas is something that R could both mirror and appreciate (even if they have a not-at-all-guilty pleasure for Britney Spears music along with very classical works.) 🖤 R's route can be rather emotional and angsty, especially for R-mancers who look more deeply at why R behaves the way they do. I once had an ask on Tumblr about the angstiest route in /Book One/, I answered it may appear to be J. Corvin's at first glance, but R's would be my final answer if you look deeper. 👁️👁️(Both of them have angst though!)

2024-07-26 12:18:53 +0000 UTCTHIS IS ACTUALLY SO??? i don't know what i need to do to trigger this scene, but im gonna see it one way or another- R verner you never cease to leave me speechless and pondering. i wanna give them the love they deserve so badly. tho i think there's something to be said about all this falling into place with r having certain opinions on fairy tale romances, and noire having v clear inspiration from one already! i think it's a v funny, but happy coincidence! noire's stance on fairytale like romances is... he likes them, but isn't sure if he would ever have one. (he's not sure if anyone would ever want something like that with him). but he is happy for others when they find it for themselves. anyways R verner when i catch you i'm gonna make you so happy.

I'm sobbing, crying, rolling on the floor now over R Verner's approach to romance. It just makes things so much more emotional for me when I remember how you wrote the way Mrs Verner didn't give her child a hug, the gentle affections aren't something R is used to, and then the marriage aspects + the tough past with Mr and Mrs Verner after the Major Changes. I think about Zarina on R's RO path, seeing those blinks of the care/comfort R provides and it causes her melt in a different way than with her on B's RO path. It's the glimpses, the hints, the notes. Maybe it'll never be a fairytale between the ReeZ (I'm sorry I'll never let go of their ship name being this) but it'll be theirs. Maybe knowledge in operas, in plays, in books... Maybe that can help with romance, with softness, with gentleness. I STARTED TO RAMBLE BUT ANYWAYS I LOVE R VERNER WITH MY WHOLE HEART AND THEY DESERVE THE WORLD.

I like how the /others/ being in romance can prompt these reactions in R. 😢 I can't wait for this 'deeply hidden' view to possibly come out, if not be revived, for the Returning Visitor. We will learn more about how R's upbringing contributes to this along with what they once saw between their parents before things... changed. 🖤💍 (I'm so ride or die for Jam and Ruby; I mean that with my whole heart, Kay. 🥰 R's voice almost catching here is just the tip of the iceberg of how intense this scene is, oof. I'm excited for Jam to experience R's care/comfort, but what happens before that is !!!.)
