If Losing someone they care about is also one of their deepest fears, so they understand J completely Losing their parents + leaving the only town they knew and abandoning all the people they cared about will do that to a person ☠️ (my vendetta against the TFS grandpa only grows) It's partially why Alex is so aloof. If you don't get attached to people, you have less to lose. If you pull away first, them leaving you won't hurt as bad It's also fuelled by their own deep loyalty towards the people that actually manage to stay in their life Guilt is not a hard feeling for Alex to feel, so they would blame themself if anything happened to the people they care about, even if there was nothing that could be done (no wonder their nightmare mask was sadness, no matter how much they tried to numb it) I relate to the S one a little too much what a surprise ☠️ If you already have a base line for how things work, its easier to try and predict different situations based on knowledge and the analysis of past patterns. While I don't doubt S would still seek out understanding even if it wasnt rooted in fear of the unknown, that actually explains their behavior in the town line and their own mutability and water associations. (Off topic but I wonder how S feels about the fact we only know 5% of the ocean so far lol) The more you know, the more you can understand your situation and control your emotions, since you already know what to expect 🤝 Mal as mysterious as ever IM GONNA SHAKE YOU "They want to act rather than react to you" Maybe they fear not having control over things? They seem to know everything about everyone and know how many things work in Fernweh Which I doubt is made better by their server role, having to serve something or *someone* 👀 instead of doing what they want Maybe their RO excursion was them subtly rebelling against that too Who knows?
