Happy Birthday J. Corvin! 💚 [Public]

In honor of J. Corvin's birthday, I collected/revamped some writings and questions about them to share with you. I tried to mix sweet, bittersweet, and spicy—a trail mix of J! 🥰

(For the first two questions, we are going to pretend cell phones are common in Fernweh despite the lacking signal.)

(Spicy 🔥) Question: "MC sending J a spicy 🌶🌶🌶 message when they are in the same room/around other people 😘?"

Answer: 

Bless J. They may say your name in both reflex and surprise, which is probably not what you expected, but it's too late now... Playing off calling to you is something J is able to do by asking you a random question that does not relate to what you and the others are currently talking about (e.g. 'uhm, you like pizza, right?' 'what time do you want to leave?' 'how... how are you doing?' 'do you want my jacket?'). At least they didn't drop their phone! They aren't really sure how to react and would be unlikely to type back a response when so caught off-guard. However, they will praise (I mean this sweetly, although they have the range 👀) you later and also question your timing.

Question: "How would the ROs react to someone asking for their number when they are dating the MC?"

Answer: 

J: “...I don't have a phone.” 😐 Very calm, possibly too calm, and neutral. Before the person could even ask for their number, J was starting to look for you since they lost interest while still not yet cluing into their admirer's infatuation with them. If the person insists, J leaves. They don't have time for this and would much prefer finding you again. (Also, yeah, J has a phone, only very few people know their number.)

🌲 TFS: Book Two Teaser, Some Bike Crash Backstory! 🌲

James

Those measured, efficient steps come to a faltering stop that invites you to angle your head to get a better view. There he is on the threshold of the living room. For a second, you're reminded of how your former, childhood friend would always wait for you, lingering and hesitating. As close friends, James was your shadow who kept a close watch over you. It was instinctual to be together—how he was often on your right, ever-present, and how he didn't seem to materialize without you.

"If you're going, I'm coming too, [Name]. It's a dangerous ravine. Don't ever go alone."

When you broke your arm, he was the first person by your side, nearly wrecking his bike from taking the decline too fast.

Smaller, personal details about James found their way into your memory. You're learning more now by spending time together in town.

Jane

Question: "What are some things the ROs can be really stubborn about?"

Answer:

J can be stubborn about things they associate with duty, obligation, or family. They are willing to endure and shoulder burdens because of this trait, though it's not necessarily coming from a place of being as headstrong or mulish as R/S since it's what they feel is right. Hmm.

The JR route can result in some... interesting... exchanges when J and R clash (or agree!) on certain topics. They share a few values.

Question: "random q: how would romanced jane feel about mc calling her janie? is my mc about to be murdered in their sleep or?"

Answer:

Oh this is a cute question!

A romanced! J is fine with pretty much anything the MC wants to call them as long as it's made clear to them that it's an affectionate nickname. They are likely to fluster some at you choosing to refer to them in a fond and casual manner when most people use: 'Detective Corvin' or 'Detective' or 'The Detective', etc. and not their name.

Earlier in romance, J may prefer if you keep it between the two of you or at least you and the Fernweh gang.

They may stiffen if you were to call out to them 'Janie'/'Jay' etc. in the Station and be like: 🤨 (but on the inside it's more: 😳). A few of the officers would look between you and them in faint surprise or shock at someone referring to the reserved (lowkey intimidating, but also kind of scary hot...) Detective like that. No one else dares to try it.

We learn in Book Two that J's nickname is 'Jay'. It works wonderfully for both James and Jane. There is a story relating to it that you'll uncover while at the Corvin home! 💚

(Spicy 🔥) Question: "Who talks the most in bed? Least? Who is the loudest? :)"

Answer:

"Your words, [Name]," J states the prompt too calmly so it contrasts with the ragged breath you just drew in because their fingers have stilled, idling where you want them. J isn't merciless, leaning in to kiss along your heaving chest while you work up to the sentence, although their attention might be having the opposite effect from how your fingers tug their hair, a half-hearted yet pitiful warning. "Tell me what you need from me," they patiently insist. "I'm listening."

A bit of a paradox, J. Corvin tends to be relatively quiet in bed when receiving; however, they do tend to 'talk' to the MC while giving them attention. They go wild for the MC's ability to form sentences steadily declining, becoming more breathy, laced with moans, or even pleading that J is ever quick to fulfill. They're conscientious, afterall. Being wanted is what they ultimately crave, so hearing that effect from the Returning Visitor is something they'll prolong and take pride in.
