I'm unsure about the differing opinions on C's nickname choices for R. Verner: Reesie and Rubes, respectively, but I believe many of you aren't too keen on them. 😜
It's interesting how C's nickname is: Char, which is a verb that means: to burn and become black or to burn something so that it becomes black. Perhaps, this is simply a coincidence? It's going to naturally bring to mind the tragedy that befell the MC's parents and home; however, it adds to the negative/dangerous connotations we've learned about this character. (It suggests a penchant for destroying or damaging things.) Char could also take on a different meaning once we focus on the 'to become black' part since we know that the Verners tend to have black and silver as their associated colors, especially R. It's the color R consistently wears, though there are multiple reasons as to why, throughout the series.
If Char's nickname is a warning, aspiration/hope, or red herring is something to ponder.
I'm certain this ramble will make you scrutinize them more! 👁️👁️

my only thought with reading "penchant for destroying or damaging things" was 'oh i HAVE to explore that with my mcs'. the range i'm ready to experience. noire would take that the absolute worst as someone who has a natural tendency to endure (he would tolerate a lot maybe not for the best), whereas sienna would lean moreso on fear ("i'm just a girl???"). dia i think would handle things and C more rationally, whereas soldeen would be optimistic in their character lol but maybe we are all just assuming things. maybe they just burn so intensely they can't help but leave ashes where they've been. if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen, but the kitchen is in my home and i'm in control of the flames so-

I love R so much, they deserve the world, and when you stop to think about the kind of people (like Char) that are out to get them because of their heir status? Nooo, now I gotta make them marry someone nice i.i I'd offer Lara, but she's a dumbass But gotta say, me as a reader loves to see these very different and acidic well developed personalities. And I respect someone who knows what they want! And Lara also respects her, even if she thinks that Char could reach so much more.
