I was torn on doing a GIF that related to the title or finding two that show C's face claims and inspirations. There is also the matter of their character portraits eventually being revealed, but my mentioning them getting a set might pique your interest. (To be fair, the baby deer has a character portrait too; however, he counts as a side character, imo. 🦌) It would suggest that you'll be seeing more of them in the TFS series! I love the very mixed reactions they are invoking in you all from the comments I've seen. This post will be teasing some future exchanges with them and a new variable!
Figuring out C's angle is a common trend among you.

As the resident bad taste haver (hello ???) and shit stirrer fan (hi Mal) they feel like they were tailor made for me lmao They are literally so interesting right off the bat and i love the variety of dynamics we can have with them (🏃<- me on my way to become frenemies with them) I do admit i was worried they might've only been created for a jealousy plotline but you quickly relieved my fears. I hate when characters are just added for drama and arent characters on their own but i know how much you care about crafting good characters and storylines. I cant wait to know more about them. Also i cannot wait to find out more about whatever definitely happened between Char and the Corvin siblings All in all, 10/10 character, love to hate, hate to love. Waiting with bated breath for all the "damage" they will definitely cause, right Schade?

2023-12-13 15:19:04 +0000 UTCAgain, sorry for the essay sized comment I left, and this one. 😬 Honestly, that was just my best guess at trying to figure out C (for now). There’s not much interaction with C yet so it’s kinda difficult to ponder them out, but they sort of caught my interest because I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get Charles instead of Charlene. I’m looking forward to learning more. (I’m glad that you liked that thing about J having a type since I also found it funny, it also inspired me to try out the JR route at least once in Book 1. My “planned routes” are just routes I know for sure that I’ll finish, my priority routes, but I plan to give all of them a try at completion at some point. Especially since I recall you saying there are going to be a few things about J we can only learn in the JR route…) Honestly I’m looking forward to the JR romantic excursion because I may want to see R deal with Tabitha a bit. 😈 Ohhh, now I’m interested in what J’s reaction will be to Tabitha.👀 I’m wondering if I’ll be surprised, because, when I did the JR route, I let J kill the tree with the lighter for the first time ever (usually it’s Everly) and I’ll tell you I was completely FLOORED at the way J handled it. Did not see it coming. Well, now I’m even more interested in what C was trying to accomplish with that (what I assume was) attempt at getting the MC’s attention. 🤔 (I’m sure Everly would enjoy playing a duet with R with her violin. That or the two of them straight up trying to out play each other, trying to steal the solo. Lol. Everly might have to take R as serious competition now that R actually enjoys their instrument. 🤭)

That re-encounter with the MC in Turn the Page can be very telling. During the exchange, we do see that both R and C make some snipping barbs at each other along with showing that they do know each other on some personal level. (C's comment about strictness was out of line, yet they were right. R knowing C's order and having a routine of who buys things clashes with how they don't seem entirely receptive to their running partner. This continues when C next pops up. Your R (and/or) JR-mancer will get extra insight. (Very belated side note: I still sometimes think about what you typed about J seemingly having a type on your JR route. 😂 I know it's not one of your three planned routes; I just adore that detail for Everly.) Anyway, I love your thought process here, including how the bloodline aspect is mentioned too! 👑 (You're right that Tabitha's behavior speaks to viewing J as an 'ideal' instead of a person. There is honest interest there; however, the care leaves much to be desired. 😒 She went too far in the writings; we will need to see if she has that same capacity is in the main series. (I do love to draw links or weave certain hints.) During the J RO excursion, we do see how she questions the MC along with references to past mentions of her trying to overstep into J's dynamic with the MC. She could probably do with Everly or someone setting her straight. Oh, wait, okay, so minor spoiler, but: J is informed of this later; they do react. 👀) I've been waiting for someone to mention this! The shirtless variation for Charles and how Charlene might emphasize the spandex blend of her outfit, mygosh. R's look is described as a 'warning' to C. I won't say too much more on it aside from being like !!!. Some variations can play into this more, a wedge, a means to get attention, etc. are all possible where C Schade is concerned. 😌 It's hard to know with them. The realness/genuine dynamic with the MC is why that 'rivalry' (we all know it's more than that) holds such a special place in their heart years after the fact. This is regardless of romance. It can't be overstated how much it meant to the Verner heir given how they were raised. 🖤 Your MC will be able to learn more about why R seems to maintain this friendship (?) with C. We will be getting some past glimpses that can further your theories too. (Also, yes, R grew to enjoy the piano! There is a slight backstory as to why they have a complicated view of the instrument; however, they do like it now.) Thank you for your comment!

2023-11-26 23:57:56 +0000 UTCReading that C's flexibility is coming through to you did bring me some relief, tbh. 🥰 While writing this particular Author's View, I was trying to figure out how to best convey it--to put it relatively neatly into words without showing all of the nesting scenes. (It would be difficult to easily do that.) What you said about perceiving them and being able to /interpret/ them/their motives is awesome! I agree them being more of an 'instigator' or conflict type makes them fun! I find them interesting to write, and their tangled dynamics along with unknown motives adds some uncertainty that all of you MCs will naturally approach differently. I love that it adds more character development. Sienna's tactic would be something B relates to, especially to try and keep things affable for everyone involved. We will need to see if it leaves her unscathed by C; I think she has a solid chance to get glancing barbs. Maybe even make a very surface friend? 😊 (I type that and then glance at the final sentence you typed out, oof. I'll get back to that!) Noire letting his bond with R influence how cordial he is with C is interesting. I like how he's waiting for a solid reason aside from C's general disposition, possibly something with more ill intent. Oh, that exacerbation can be fun; it's hinted at in the Author's View, but C can sometimes prey on certain dynamics depending on past choices to twist/mislead. It depends. :< Oof, in regards to B, I think Noire might trigger a harsher scene, iirc. I'm now psyched for you to read it. B and C can have a variable exchange; it can show a bit more about how C will rise, er, soar (?) to a conflict. Thank you for what you typed! 💚

2023-11-26 23:26:30 +0000 UTC'Unique' + feeling baffled and not sure what to make of R and C's dynamic (both past, but especially present) is exactly what I'm aiming for, so this was motivating to read. I hope that C naturally raises some questions, possibly even tacking some onto other characters as well. 🧐 That curiosity might be rewarded! Oh, the sweet approach or trying to butter C up could be an interesting way to play it. Their relationship stat is two-sided, so it's possible to be on better terms if your MC has some measure of patience and is willing to go this route. 😇 You're right that it would catch them off guard though. Very much: >.> while R would also be side-eyeing the MC to an extent. (The jealousy aspect is one of a few different ways to play it; being perfectly secure with a romanced R, outright ignoring C, maybe wishing death upon them, etc. could be within your MC's grasp.) We shall see how things unfold!

He'll have more than a few quips for them! 😤 Also, I can imagine Sparrow and Bee talking (possibly gossiping? trash talking?) with how close they are. I can't wait for you to unlock some of the jealousy scenes; I wonder how J will be. 👀😉💜

It can tease out different sides of both of your MC's beloveds, including unearthing some special past memories and mentions. 😎 I'm glad that you are eager to throw your characters into this; that's my hope with having all the nuances in dynamics! It's so encouraging to me that readers want to uncover/discover scenes. You probably have read a special remark where C questions R knowing J's coffee order; it's unique to the JR route along with a slight hint. :D

2023-11-26 22:58:21 +0000 UTC(Unlike Tabitha 🔪) I’m rather neutral with C for now. (Though, I might be a bit biased since J is my favorite.) To me, C doesn’t actually seem to like R in my opinion. It feels more like R is like a goal, possibly because of the bloodline thing and that R’s family seems to be closest in status to C’s family. So to me it just seems that C wants R even if they don’t actually WANT R. Or perhaps I should say they want to obtain R but don’t actually want or like R. Sort of like C has to own the nicest thing in town so they can show it off, even if they don’t have any real interest in it. (Off topic but I’d also argue that whereas Tabitha does actually LIKE J, she doesn’t actually CARE about J. If she did she’d have seen something in J other than “scary hot” by this point and should have been more concerned that the love potion appeared to also be making J work themself to death… more so than J already does anyway. Also if Tabitha CARED she wouldn’t have tried to take J’s autonomy just to get what she wanted, she didn’t care J was a puppet, that J wasn't actually J, so long as J was interested in her.) Honestly, for some of the variations in what happens with C it feels more like C was trying to get MC’s attention? To mess with R? Or perhaps just an attempt to drive a wedge between MC and R even if it means getting the MC’s interest instead of R’s? For R’s part it feels to me like their relationship is something R has to maintain but doesn’t hold any real interest in because nothing about the relationship is genuine. Having a REAL and GENUINE relationship (be it friendship or otherwise) is why I think R has (currently and as a child) so much interest in the MC. I’d could probably compare this to R’s piano playing. Iirc, R didn’t WANT to learn the piano as a child, but they continued to practice because it is something they are expected to keep up with. (Though unlike with C, who R doesn't seem to like, it seems R eventually learned to like their piano eventually?)

2023-11-22 03:19:10 +0000 UTCi love the range of dynamics and i love how easily flexible it can be read and interpreted on the characters perceiving them! i think of C as a rly fun character tbh, just bc i like the addition of someone who can give "conflict" along with the other characters who are actively trying to get along with the mc! it's fun to have that kind of variety and navigate that. sienna isn't entirely sure how to read C just yet, but she's sociable and prone to conflict avoidance, so she will keep things kind and try to smooth things over when she can! she's just sort of confused about c's behavior more than anything. noire on the other hand doesn't know yet just what to make of c. he isn't pleased about c's "playfulness", but since c is supposedly r's friend, he will play cordial. until c gives him a reason not to be. i can't say if noire is jealous or not tho. noire wonders a lot if he's misreading r's actions, so c can only exacerbate that in some regards which can be fun! hands are being thrown if c is an ass to B tho! neither sienna nor noire will put up with that

I certainly didn't feel any genuine affection between them which was baffling to say the least. Thus my MC is not threatened just curious why C is the way they are. I'll make you fall in love with my MC, C! just you wait, its a fate that awaits everyone who thinks they can prematurely judge them 😎 I personally would find it funny to play an MC that is completely oblivious to their mockery and just goes "uhuh mate, btw you want that last chicken wing or-" (if they ever shared a dinner. table) although I can understand why people would like to play into the jealousy aspect, I personally think it would be hilarious to take C completely off guard and make them even change their opinion about MC if possible

But also, C gave me a bad feeling from the start - so not surprised this is going to rub my character the wrong way. Can't wait to get to know them a little more. May become the character I love to hate.
