I received the below ask on Tumblr. It's such an incredibly important question that I wanted to make a quick post to address it on here for you all to see. :D
"for the character portraits on patron (i'm a new subscriber) do you separate the polls by gender? because if not, the female romances are never gonna get a portrait....I don't want to impose but I'd really appreciate it if you took that into consideration. thank you!"- Patron
I always believe in matching portraits to be fair to the RO as a whole, so J. Corvin rather than just James or just Jane. The upcoming Hickory patron poll mainly includes side characters this time around, so Mrs. Dorran, Milton, the Baby Deer (yes, he got a portrait), and A. A's gender identity can vary!
If A. Corvin wins, I'll stagger the three posts to account for Alina, Alex, and Alek to be equitable to their character as a whole.
For future character portraits of the ROs, such as a Fernweh Diner scene or some other theme, I will be posting both versions. A vote for them would then look like this: B, S, R, J, and Mal. If Mal wins, then it will be the Waiter and the Waitress, not simply one version. One last thing, please don't worry about thanking me in this regard. 😊 I adore all the characters, so it's my hope to treat them fairly with my content offerings on Patreon.

Ah that makes sense! It didn’t occur to me because none of the others (apart from the MC) had they/them as an option. (unless they did and I missed it, I’m a scatter brain.)

The other versions of A are a matter of their gender identity for the most part, so Alek uses he/him and Alex uses they/them pronouns. You can allow A. Corvin to have a crush on your MC, but that's a choice to let you select whichever A fits best with your MC's orientation or if you even what that to occur. The optional A/B crush doesn't have any gender restrictions either. I have seen that readers like to tailor the dynamics for replays, using different As for different runs. :D
