Deep in the arctic seas, the waves stand as frozen towers. A place of power left from ancient times long since forgotten by written history. As auroras dance in the sky, what remains of the chilly sea pounds the rock and ice. Shipwrecks and standing stones emerge from the winter landscape, marking the end and beginning alike of adventures.

This is a set I worked on for quite a while before it all started to click. I really love arctic themes maps; there's endless playtime with all the colors you can delve into to bring the setting to life. For this set, I wanted to showcase a locale with a bit of magic and wonder; something to inspire a new adventure and new art looking toward the new year. Hopefully you'll enjoy this one as much as I did making it (even if it was a bit of a labor of love).
