Rei October illust “maneater” Full Timelapse +notes
Added 2024-11-03 20:34:00 +0000 UTCHello again! Today I’ll go through my thoughts with this illustration. I wanted to do something related to Rei because of a marshmallow request I received. It made me laugh because it sounded like it was pleading (and I rlly haven’t drawn her in a long time….)
When I first started the drawing, I wanted something feral looking, with blood everywhere and a half eaten fish. So I posed her as such. A delicate hand performing something so terrifying yet natural (at least, to her) I thought it would look neat.
As I started drawing, I drew the hand and thought “oh. Thats not how she would hold the fish.” And ended up changing it to a heart, which is arguably more scary. I did a lot of adjusting. I really like how I drew the hand. I referenced my coworker for the arm (he has been helping me with a lot of pieces recently).
After finishing her hair the thought of what she would wear crossed my mind, and I decided it would be best to go with a reference to her original outfit! She used to be a lot more “edgy” back then. As time went on she has become more soft and bubbly…!
As for the Timelapse, it matched up almost perfectly with the song I chose haha
