2020-02-20 21:50:05 +0000 UTCHange already explained everything about how you become a titan shifter : that you have to become a "Pure Titan" ( dumb titan) and eat someone who is a titan shifter --> So there are only a fixed number of titan shifters at a time You probably missed it in episode 5 and again in episode 9 For the Levi Part and why he was in the underground, it's said back in season 1 that there is an underground city where poor people and such are forced to live. Kenny said back in episode 6 during his flashback that his sister (Levi's mom ) lived there (because of poverty and the Ackerman persecution) , worked as a prostitute and was pregnant. If you want to know about Levi's life before the anime, i suggest you watch the OVA "No regrets , part 1 and 2 " that are (i think ) essentials to understand Levi psychology

It’s just speculation because no one has tried it. But we can see in the flashback of Frida she turns into a titan. Eats Uri. And becomes a human with Titan shifting ability. Also pleaseeeeeeeeeee watch the FULL ending for Season 3 Episode 12 (aka 49) !! You won’t want to miss it.
