I saw a couple different people printing onto glassine bags to add a cute customization to their packaging and had to give it a try for myself and I'm actually wildly impressed with how easy this is and how nice it turns out?? I have been using glassine bags to package store orders ever since my shop opened and being able to add a personal touch to them was very fun to design!

printing on glassine bags is something that you can do with an inkjet printer -- I have a canon g3260 currently and it gave me no issues. all you really need to do to do this is insert a couple bags into your printer (mine was comfortably able to handle 5-10 at once) and print on your regular paper setting. I wanted my design to be at the base of the bag (so I still have room to fold the top over and add a sticker without covering the bag design), so I had to have my print file be upside down, inserted my bags,,, butt first (?) into the printer and then they're CUTE and CUSTOMIZED!!!
when I first saw other creators doing this online, there were a handful of comments of people saying their bags got jammed in their printer and to avoid that you just have to insert a piece of paper INSIDE the bag to add stability,, when I first read that I was 100% sure that if MY printer made me take the extra step of inserting a paper into each bag.. just to remove them after printing,, I was NOT cut out for this one. I did a small design and ran some test prints with the 6"x8" bags I have and they didn't have any troubles, so I finalized a design to print and then found out my 5"x7" bags did, in fact, need a stability paper inside π they thankfully didn't jam in my printer but the print head kindly splashed black ink on the bags so.. it was not working. by then I had already put time into the drawing and I was excited about being able to do this so I did have to cave and do the paper thing. which... isn't really the worst thing in the world but in my little brain I didn't want the extra step (it's okay though bc it was worth it for the final product).
BUT this is such a cute way to customize packaging for a small business so HIGHLY recommend!!! I will be doing more designs to print on bags bc tasks like this tickle my brain so much. 100/10
in case you want them, here are the links for the glassine bags I use:

(also yes when stuff is in the bags you can't see the design as well but that won't stop me)
