A Tithe in Blood Development Update - October 2024

Good day, こんにちは, and 你好. It's been a long 3 months since the announcement and demo release for A Tithe in Blood! If you haven't grabbed it yet, the demo is available on Steam and Itch.

It's been an amazing journey to develop this game, and the reception we've had already has put a lot of wind in our sails. Development is progressing well, so it's time for a quick rundown on where we're at, and where to next.

* We have a complete soundtrack! Thank you to Claire DeLuca for her work in developing the music, her pieces nailing the atmosphere we've been aiming for. It's always rewarding to hear someone's portfolio and immediately know they're a perfect fit.

* The scenario writing is also complete, as is editing. Of course, we're continually resolving any little typos and script issues which snuck through as we work on the game.

* Art-wise, we have a complete set of all character sprites. Some background work is continuing, as is development of the CGs and miscellaneous art assets, such as cutins.

* Direction from the ever-talented Papaya continues apace, and it's been wonderful to see the writing come alive with each newly directed scene. We're also looking to make some tune-ups on the UI per feedback from the demo.

And that's where we're at! We're not quite at the point of announcing a firm release date, but we're on track for our internal goal of the first half of 2025.

As the scenario writer, it's the first time I've written a story anything like this, so I was extremely nervous as the page went up and the public saw its first peek of A Tithe in Blood. The feedback we've since received has not only taken a lot of stress off, but helped get this game surging onward with new and exciting developments. A huge thank you to everyone who's played, and those who've wishlisted the game.

A particular thank you also to all those who filled out the player survey at the end of the demo. These have been extremely useful in nailing down what worked right, where we need to course-correct, and in the never-ending hunt for bugs and typos. Going forwards, we have some very exciting new developments around A Tithe in Blood which we can't quite reveal yet, so stay tuned for updates!
