I'm not an expert but since the image in the preview is most likely rendered in a 3D software the look will be different since ea lighting and render is quite different. It also has to be loaded live and therefore it can't be as smooth. Even if the polycount might be the same, the normal smoothing can be different. So if the mesh doesn't have HQ mod compabilíty I don't think there is anything you can do. This occurs with a lot of CC.
