Important JY Patreon Update

Hey, Patrons - Big changes happening.

As some of you have noticed, I haven't posted here in awhile, and I haven't been active in the Patreon discord server.

Three things have happened that are changing my perspective on Patreon:

1.  My career has become completely stable financially without Patreon, at least until YouTube changes.

2.  I'm realizing that I'll be a much better & healthy person if I take a step back from social media.

3. I'm getting increasingly frustrated when I see internet companies or personalities lacking transparency and pandering in order to grasp at the lowest hanging fruit, whether that's YouTube views, Patreon donations, retweets or whatever. Years ago I would have written this off as good marketing, but I'm starting to get fatigued by the notion that cheap social media pandering seems to be more valuable than quality.

For the longest time, I was a big part of the problems that are now starting to wear me down. In many ways, I still am. I was addicted to social media, all of my videos were clickbait-y, and all of my posts were optimized attention grabs. I fell for my own con, convinced myself I wasn't enabling the toxicity of sensationalism, and put off my passion for writing music in favor of constantly plugging in, fake smiling, and getting attention.

No more.

I'm deleting all Patreon rewards except karaoke instrumentals ($3) and a new $1 reward tier that includes whatever bonus content I come up with on any given month. 

The discord channel won't be deleted, but I won't be very active there as I take a step back from constantly being "plugged in".

For now, my career is financially stable. 

Don't donate because you think I need it to pay rent. Don't donate because you want special VIP fan treatment.

Please ONLY donate if:

• You absolutely can't think of anything else to do with your money
• You like the patreon rewards I'm offering, such as: karaoke instrumentals, behind the scenes content & exclusive tips & trick
  

I won't be asking for donations via this site unless my income one day becomes unstable. I am humbled that all of you chose to throw money at me, but moving forward know that I don't need your donations to continue doing what I do successfully.

Thanks for your support, as always. I've always been bad at managing this Patreon campaign, largely due to my dishonesty with myself and toxic mindset since the very beginning of my channel, when I compromised in an effort to find an audience. I hope you can forgive me as I take a much needed first step in the right direction.
