I always try to answer all comments but sometimes it can take days. ^^

Sergio Calvo Miniatures

Will do. It’s greatly appreciated that you get back to your fans. Thank you so much!

Christopher Cornacchio

Thank you very much! and if you have any questions, write me again.

Sergio Calvo Miniatures

Haha. It’s fine. It’s me who’s having a hard time understanding the process (especially since the airbrush is new to me). Thank you again for your patience!

Christopher Cornacchio

Great! Sometimes I know I struggle with being able to express myself correctly in words. -.-'

Sergio Calvo Miniatures

Thank you for your explanation! I understand now.

Hi! I almost always do the whole process with the brush and then if necessary I clean up with the airbrush or add new shades. You can use the airbrush to vary the midtones and shadows. The only thing I don't recommend with the airbrush is to do the light because you end up messing up everything around it and in the end, it looks whitish or grayish (and I like the intensity of the color much better).

Sergio Calvo Miniatures

Or is it possible to use magenta’s, reds, etc to help blend layers like skin tones so you don’t need to use a midtone? I’m sorry if I’m not clear or sound a bit confused.

Christopher Cornacchio

You blend the capibases with the airbrush with mid tones first, before you use the airbrush for tones and temperatures?

Christopher Cornacchio

Hi! Normally my painting process is to use the brush until I have 90% of the miniature and when I do glazes, I prefer to use the airbrush to save time. With the airbrush depending on the miniature I can do mid tones and shadows or directly shadows. What I don't like is to use the airbrush in the light (or with colors very close to white) as it can gray the miniature. And in this case I used a lot of mid tones for the skin and to shade the armor for example.

So you are using the magenta to glaze order the miniature at the end with your airbrush. You’re adding tones, but are you also blending your capibases? Did I miss a step if you blended the skin tones with a midtone?
