Unreal Landscape Grass Output - UE4 Open World Tutorials #14

This is the part 14 of the #tutorial series I am doing on how to create an open world Game in #unreal engine.

in this part, I'll explain how to place grass, bushes on the landscape based on the landscape material layer. That means, grass meshes will be placed only where the grass texture layer is placed. and similarly, we can set different meshes to be placed on different layers. For this function, I will use Landscape grass output feature in the unreal material system.

can you share the way you get the grass output in material

HI no i did not want to spawn the grass on the stoner area... i was following the videos as is... where can i go to fix this please? or what do i need to share for u to check maybe? thanks for the help!

by overlapping, did you meant he grass spawning on rock layer? if yes, that's because even if the grass mesh root is within the grass layer of the landscape layers, because of the biounds are large in grass mesh, they expand to the other layers on edges. you can minimize in by reducing the size

Morning sorry to bother but any idea on what could be causing this affect ? im using a custom world engine but even if i use ur world engine map and exact GT_1/GT_2 settings i get this weird overlap look on my grass... my assets are from grasslands but it seem to have it regardless of the foliage assets i use?

you can use them too. also, there are some new grass meshes in megascans too, which you can get for free

hi i guess i understand you dont want to give the project files for free but can you at least advise which free asset pack you are using? is it "Open World Demo Collection" asset pack maybe? thanks and thank you for the videos i look forward to catching up :)
