Papa Kamek (WIP)

ROUGH SCRIPT:

Bowsette: ...Ba?

Kamek: (stops in his tracks reading reports on the kingdom and whirls around, surprised) Bowsette? (he turns to approach her, leaning down some to look her in the face) Child, what are you doing up? Are you alright?

Bowsette: (clutching tightly at her plush ducky) ...scary dream. I tried ta tell mama and papa but... they told me ta leave 'em alone. Can I stay with you?

Kamek: (tries not to let his anger toward the royal Koopa parents show; schools his face into something more gentle as he scoops the kid up) Oh, of course, Firefly. C'mon, I'll getcha some hot chocolate.

A 2-paged short comic I plan on finishing sometime soon! I'll likely leave it mostly sketchy, just clean up the character's faces and add color, but ye. :)

For context and as a reminder: Bowser and Bowsette's parents were around but they were very much not present in the way that matters. When they weren't off partying or spending the money in the treasury, they just kinda hung out and played king/queen, but never actually did anything worth mention. That includes mostly ignoring their children. Like I can imagine them playing with their children, but the moment their interest died they'd drop them like hot potatoes to do something else, and were quick to get annoyed when their kids sought them out. And the kids never forgot that.

Kamek stepped up in several ways in his attempts to try and keep the kingdom at least functioning so, when Bowser gained the crown, it wouldn't be a absolute disaster. But one of his most important roles, and the role he took to the most, was being their surrogate father. No matter what he was doing or how busy he was, he'd stop the moment Bowser or Bowsette called to him and see to their needs however he could.

Kamek never showed it, or tried not to, but he's beyond furious by the poor behavior his Highnesses direct to their own children. He knows what it's like to grow up without a caring parent; his ma, Kammy, raised him all on her own and did her best by him, so he took her example to heart when it came to the prince and princess.

I've said this before but as far as Bowser and Bowsette are concerned, Kamek is their father, their real family. Coco and Bruce (mom and dad) are only in it through blood relation but that's about all they got goin' for them, and the two are most perplexed why neither of their children don't really wanna be around them.

BUT YEAH! :D Have some Papa Kamek. Might do one with a young Bowser about to be crowned for his coronation. We'll see! owo
