You may have intended this as humorous but it had functioned as a PSA. I had no clue about this kind of thing specifically happening. This sort of thing is why I usually don’t even answer my phone… everything just goes to voicemail, and I end up dealing with it later… scammers… ugh.

2024-12-29 18:35:03 +0000 UTCSome phone scammers just connect the lines they called together if they can’t get an agent to the line before it answers. They call the next number on the list while trying to scam the previous to minimize the time between calls. I assume they connect the half calls to keep the people talking in hopes they can connect back to one end of the calls in time to make another scam attempt.
