GOT 2X4 UNCUT REACTION

Hi Kemi thanks so much for subscribing! Indi actually has the full box set of the GOT books so I'll definitely be reading them as soon as I finish the show. Are there any spoilers for House of the Dragons in the books? If not, I definitely want to start reading them as soon as I can! I’m also glad to find out you subscribed for Steven and Game of Thrones. I’ve been wondering how much of a crossover there is between the fandoms since they’re such different shows, so it's cool to see that you're a fan of both! I’m really glad to hear that there's less sexual violence in the books because I honestly assumed the show was heavily censored. I feel like given how much I love the dialogue in the show I can tell that the source is probably written in a similarly engaging way. Also have you checked out the Graphic Novels? I haven't heard much about them but I definitely want to check them out along with the anthologies if you suggest them!

I finally caved and got a membership I just couldn't wait to see how you'd react to this (and S4 of Steven)! The books are actually my hyperfixation so I've read them no joke probably a hundred times over by now - happy to answer any questions you have at any point! I'm actually quite optimistic about the next book, winds of winter, coming out in the next couple of years. People are tired of waiting and just assume it'll never be finished and I get that, but several preview chapters are already out and George has stated that since covid lockdown he's been writing a little of it every day, about 75% complete according to him, so I'm actually pretty optimistic myself (dunno about the last book but I have a feeling it'll come quicker for reasons I won't say) Anyway regardless I recommend reading them anyway when you finish the show! They're PLENTY enough different to give you a whole fresh experience, especially as you get further in the story. George's writing style is full of symbolism and really elegant prose. He's also shockingly good at writing women, and there's FARRRR LESS sexual violence in the books. I like the show as well but that always bugged me, and they are quite different! The short stories are great too!

Wow I didn't even realize there were that many GOT books! And interesting are the silent sisters following a specific religion or is that a whole separate thing?

each season is 1 book. however seasons 3 and 4 are 1 book, and season 5 is two books. that’s all we have so far. i looked at the screen with the back door comment bc i had the same thought you did 😭 the women with the seven pointed stars on their heads are the silent sisters, they’re like nuns that take a holy vow of silence for their entire life. there’s tons of beautiful and refined places in the world, i would argue most of them are not in westeros just bc westeros is small compared to the entire known world. you also definitely predicted that shadow baby!
