And in unrelated news, if you've been checking out the new Origins server beta you may be having some fun with the old UI skin adaptations from the 2006 and earlier era (see image below). But there's another nifty game setting that also hearkens to those early days when some game systems struggled to keep up with the advanced EverQuest II graphics. For those players, restricting the game's viewport with the Letterbox feature meant fewer pixels to draw and a smoother game experience as a result.
Today's systems don't have any trouble running our favorite MMO, but if you don't already have a super-wide display the Letterbox can add a cinematic, theater-style quality to your gameplay.
