Patron Poll

Since The Darq Side was introduced in 2020, the presentation format for posts has evolved considerably. Our long-time members will recall that early on we published at least one video tip every single day as promised, and we often made multiple posts on days when a new feature or other important update was published. By default Patreon sends you an email each time we post. We don't have any controls to prevent that, but you can edit your own email settings here.

Over time, analytics and conversations with patrons made it clear that this flood of messages was, for many, way too much. Members understandably began flagging emails from this address as spam. Gmail, Microsoft and other email providers followed suit by marking my emails as spam in their databases. As a result we have tips and other video posts that have been presented several times with fewer than 100 views in total!

We continue to work just as hard as always here at Darq Side HQ, but over the past few months we've purposely whittled the number of posts from 30+ per month down to fewer than ten. The hope is that by moderating the number of posts, members won't feel forced to flag us as spam.

Postings include a weekly tip on Sundays, a mid-month update post, and a forward-looking newsletter for the coming month. (The March Waypoints newsletter will be available within the next day or so.) Daily tips are now published mid-week when there are no other posts, and the site retains daily tips for much longer than before.

How do you rate the frequency of posts at the Darq Side? (It's a bit of a paradox since members who have their Darq Side emails turned off won't see this poll unless they visit the site.
