Ballads of Zimara Beta Update

Note: This post is for DarqUI Premium patrons who are using the 2K or 4K UI on the Beta server. A very special group indeed!

The Ballads of Zimara beta test is in full swing, and I hope you've had a chance to check things out over there. If you want to use DarqUI Premium in Beta, it's pretty easy to do -- our all-in-one video has two sections on Beta setup.

A couple of interesting changes from the game developers have made their way onto the Beta server, and they both involve spell research. The Knowledge book has been reshuffled somewhat and now has a new tab layout. The old Research page has become "Upgrades" and there is a new page, called Research, down at the end. I'm not confused, I swear!

Also a new Single-Use Researcher window has appeared, which may be used to "expand your arsenal interactively with Advanced Research (link)."

Naturally we're not modifying the Research window since it's brand new, and thus far there haven't been any Knowledge book member suggestions that we've been able to implement. But nevertheless both Beta window versions have gotten the 2K/4K treatment and are available on the DarqUI update server for Beta participants.

If you check for updates with your Beta server utility, you'll get one of those annoying pop-up server messages with instructions. But just for the record, the files you need are down near the bottom of the list, right above Themes. (Update: these two files were moved to the top of the list to make them easier to discover.)

If you don't want the Large or X-Large sizes, you'll see a D (EQII default) in the Size column. The files won't be downloaded and in the case of the Single-Use Researcher you'll be using the normal size window that comes from LaunchPad.

Members who are using the Extras package will want to get the Beta Knowledge window, since the contents have changed enough that you won't be seeing your spells and abilities correctly without it.
