If you've been watching the news you know that EverQuest II will soon follow in the footsteps of its predecessor by converting to a 64-bit platform for servers and clients. The Beta server has already been converted, and offers players a chance to help iron out any rough spots before the upgrade.
In addition to the platform change, a few quality-of-life nuggets are showing up here and there on Beta, and this one caught my eye since not long ago players were requesting it. We made our best attempt at the time to do what would only take a couple of lines of code from the developers.
When you're working on quests in the Overseer window, many times you'll click one of the traits in the quest panel (or use the Search box at the bottom) to find all honest agents for example. Then when you're ready to tackle a different quest, you want to clear the previous trait filter and see all of your agents again.
DarqUI has a control to clear the filter quickly, but unfortunately a side-effect is that it also de-selects your current quest. There's only so much we can do with certain widgets. Clicking on the search box and backspacing over your last search is awkward, but for now that's the alternative.
Kudos to the development team for adding a real honest-to-goodness X button that resets the agent list quickly without disturbing anything else. If you like to play the Overseer mini-game, you'll definitely be using this simple but handy new control a lot when it finally hits Live. (Update: this new control is now live and on the updater.)
