Think of all the different reasons why we log in to each of our characters in sequence: daily quests, overseer missions, checking broker sales, updating character inventories, the list is long. You don't have to have dozens of characters to participate in this ritual. My main account only has about half a dozen characters and I've already gotten very accustomed to using this new premium feature for rolling through alts.
Camp Next was designed by Darq Side member Naviaz, and it does exactly that: Instead of opening the Camp window, scrolling down and finding the next character to log over to, Camp Next does all of that for you automatically. If you allowed the utility to list all of your characters, and if your account names and passwords are provided on the Shutdown (Camp) setup page, you're all set!
Camp Next uses the information from the Login and Shutdown account tabs. You can start with any character on the current account. When Camp Next gets to the bottom of the list, the routine starts back over at the top. To switch to characters on a different account choose the first one manually, after which Camp Next will take it from there.
You can add a Camp Next icon to the Start Menu, Experience window, or the floating Nav Bar. If you would prefer a hotkey macro, you can use the command
show_window MainHUD.Shutdown.CampNext
My favorite spot is at the bottom of the Start Menu, right next to the Camp button. Since this is a form of camping, it makes the most sense to me there. And there is an extra perk if you use one of the four customizable Start Menu icons: mousing over the icon will report which character is coming next in the tooltip before you click (see image above).
Mousing over the Camp Next command from the other locations won't show you which character is coming next, but when you camp there is a new Player Message popup that will report the next character and server in the midde of the screen. It's similar to the familiar default "Onscreen Message" window (again, see image above). The new custom popup is available in all three sizes, so pick the one you like!
Give Camp Next a try, and I think you'll agree it makes cycling through alts much more convenient. Thanks to Naviaz for the idea and for a ton of valuable testing and feedback, as well as Rosyposy and Aidbringer for additional testing and feedback.
And finally, it bears repeating: when we say our Darq Side members are part of the project, that's not just marketing rhetoric. We really mean it! Thank you!
