Please note: you do not have to be a patron in order to use ProfitUI Community Edition Utility. It is freely available to everyone who uses ProfitUI CE.

Hello ProfitUI CE players! It's been several years since your updater has seen any changes, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. With the Visions of Vetrovia game expansion and some recent internal improvements to EQ2MAP's database, it's the perfect time to offer you a new and improved ProfitUI_CE Utility.

Utility v1.0.0.2 has two important internal changes: Both ProfitUI_CE and EQ2MAP now use newer formats that significantly improve security and efficiency when communicating with the update servers. There is enough of a difference between old and new formats that the utility and the Official EQ2MAP Updater had to be reworked.

Please update ProfitUI_CE to the new version, downloadable only from eq2interface.com. Versions prior to v1.0.0.2 won't be able to receive ProfitUI CE file updates or new maps after December 1.

The brand-new utility also sports some nice QoL improvements like:

• Added a control to repair an EQ2MAP installation by removing and reinstalling

• A Diags button will list UI and utility data to your logfile to aid in diagnosing errors

• Files and folders can be viewed or deleted directly from Updates (right-click menu)

• Utility Help window will remember its open/closed state between sessions

• Added an indicator on the Updates page when a new utility version is available

• EQ2MAP status output is more concise and less verbose

• Initial setup tooltips (yellow number overlays) are more accurate

• A dialog box suggests closing the game if it is running during initial setup

• Custom includes will now work with the (non-standard) XML in eq2ui_custom.xml

• No longer interacting with eq2ui_custom.xml if no custom files are being added

• Update list is reset if the user changes UI path after checking for updates

I encourage you to head on over to eq2interface.com and get the new utility. It's a snap to upgrade from the old one, in fact you can check out this new video that illustrates how to install or upgrade the utility.
