New Feature: Housing Shortcuts

Here's a neat new feature for Darq Siders that I bet you'll find useful. If you always find yourself zoning in to an alt's house or Prestige home for tradeskilling, teleport access or daily activities, Housing Shortcuts can make it easier. On the Favorites page of the Transport window you'll find four new buttons that can be configured to access houses of interest for each of your characters.

The shortcut buttons won't break any of the game's housing rules, so they can't enter a house with rent due for example. But you'll have quick access to frequently used houses instead of scrolling through the Character and Housing windows, and you won't need to approach the door of your characters, your alts, your alt account characters or friends' houses. You can zone in immediately upon landing in the house's parent zone.

A parent zone is a zone with clickable housing doors, Prestige portal, or Guild Hall bell including Antonica, Commonlands, Freeport, Frostfang Sea, Greater Faydark, Neriak, Qeynos (Harbor and Province), and Timorous Deep.

All you need for a shortcut button is a nickname and the ID of the house you want to access. You can grab house IDs quickly from the Inventory page of the DarqUI utility: Click the blue Housing link to show all of a character's houses. Make sure the Census button is active, then use Clipboard to copy the house ID from any character (click the image at the top of this post to see how that works).

Housing Shortcuts will zone you in to...

• any of your own houses from any city zone
• any of your published houses from any city of similar alignment

With Friend+ access, Housing Shortcuts will zone you in to...

• an alt's house from anywhere in the alt's parent zone
• another account's house from anywhere in its parent zone
• Prestige housing from anywhere in the Prestige portal's zone (Qeynos or Freeport)

Housing Shortcuts won't zone you in to...

• a house where rent is due
• an unowned house where you don't have Friend+ permission
• someone else's guild hall
• a house while you are in another house

Thanks to lhaffinatu for yet another convenience feature idea! Rosyposy and I have been testing out all the combinations of houses/zones that will work, and we've decided the best way to get a feel for the feature is to try it out! If the game doesn't like a shortcut it will do nothing, or it will show you the main Housing window, or it will zone you in to the first house on your list of owned houses.
