Update 3: The standard (full-feature) Maintained Spell Monitor re-write is on the updater, so give it a try and let me know how it goes. Framerate and performance should be virtually indistinguishable between the two versions. When you check for updates, click the gear icon to choose between Lite and Standard.
The Lite version also benefited from the changes. When you set up or edit a monitored spell (both versions), there is a new "Apply and Close" button that will refresh the monitor's contents automatically.
I want to thank our intrepid testers for taking their game time to help me fine-tune the improvements, and I can tell you for a fact they are the reason for the great results. Thank you Clint, Ladaa, Mara and Sparek!
Update 2: We have some patrons testing changes made on Friday, and so far I'm pleased to report that we're getting all thumbs-up! If you would like to test the most recent changes, see me in Discord and I'll give you a copy of the file directly.
Update: With some testing several players have found that the stuttering has not improved with the updated code. If this is you, please return to the Lite version for now. I have two ideas that I'll be working on over the weekend so stay tuned. This is a front-burner issue.
Hello Patrons, I believe the Standard (non-Lite) version of the Maintained Spell Monitor can once again be used without stuttering. The answer hit me on the way to the armor cleaners on Friday, so over the weekend I worked on the code and sure enough it's testing well in all scenarios. So it's on the DarqUI Patron server for you to try. Check for updates with the utility, then click the gear icon next to Maintained Spell Monitor. Choose Standard, then click the Update button.
When you get back into the game, the window manager will show all of the various options that are not present in the Lite version. I have not had any configuration conflicts when switching to Standard, but if you see anything wonky please send me a message here or in Discord or in email. You can always go back to the Lite version if you feel that you need to.
And one quick note about hiccups/stuttering: When you initially log in to the game, give your PC a few moments to load the game and the entire zone before you begin looking for lag spikes. If you immediately start running around the instant you land, you may get some video stutter that might be interpreted as the dreaded hiccup from before. But even high-end computers need a few seconds to get everything into memory and running smoothly.
