I bought a DNA test
Added 2017-11-29 07:52:49 +0000 UTCIt was on sale so I finally bought a DNA Ancestry test from 23AndMe, the test kit should arrive in a couple days.
As I've mentioned long ago my family has no genealogical "I cant believe I spelled that right on the first try" records. Both my mom and dads side of the family try to claim native american ancestry but with no proof to back up their claims and then they are completely inconsistent on what European ancestry we have. I kid you not every relative will have a different answer.
I know that the test will only give me geographical areas but it dose come with the raw data that I can send to other services that can break them down further.
So for fun Im going to take a guess at what the results will be and then see how the compare when I get the results :)
Sorry this is the only photo I have of me if you want to take a guess. https://sta.sh/01ln5m957y41
I think the majority is going to be of British isle/Scot/Irish/English decent
Then I think the next largest group is going to be Scandinavian or dutch because there are so many tall blonde blue eyed relatives on my dads side of the family even though he was short skinny and had jet black hair.
Then if it distinguishes from scandi and dutch I think there will be some German.
So you know, pretty average white dude.
If there is any native american Im guessing it will be really low.
And lastly Im predicting %4 or higher Neanderthal DNA.
Now since my brothers are actually my cousins by blood "we don't have the same parents" this wont be of much use to them unless it tells the mother line and father line separately.
