Heavy enemy - Alchemical accident
Added 2024-12-06 11:54:09 +0000 UTCMetal transmutation was a high focus point among Vesper's alchemists. Wealth never was a problem for the Academy, and gold was kept in low estime. Silver, on the other hand, was prized and used in almost all experiements.
Nobility was very fond of what alchemists was able to achieve and being able to participate was seen as an honor. That being said, everyone was well aware of the dangers surrounding these practices. Death and errors occured regularly but was accepted as part of the process, necessary steps to reach perfection.
Most alchemists talked about creating a better life for all. Some whispered about enhancing mortals. But a few, very few, were all about creating life. These ones however, kept their ideas, and practices, for themselves.
Dark hallways of the Academy still show signs of fruitful research. Before everything changed, it was a place of knowledge and creation. Miracles, for the most ignorant. Now that Darkness rules over Vesper, the Academy is a maze-like trap, filled with deadly creatures born from the minds of transmutation sorcerers.
These silver monsters, made out of liquid metal, are quiet and swift like wind. Waiting for a prey, hanging from the ceiling, they jump down and run for the kill when they are close enough. That is the only time they make noises : fast steps, faint breathing and a shrill sound as they raise there buzzsaws.
