Stormrod Prototype | Free VRChat Avatar Prop

This is a prototype for a series of props I will be making for VRChat avatars, consisting of Stormrod (Lore term for firearms) patterns from The World of Relm.

Features

This Prototype Stormrod is interactable from an empty chamber and discharged action, all the way back to condition zero, with contacts for all of the prop's controls, gesture controls for two handed aiming and firing, custom sound arrangements assembled from commercial sound effects, and a satisfying plume of smoke each time you fire. A prefab containing the model, rig, particle effects, constraints, contact receivers, sound effects, and VRCFury script is set up and ready to incorporate onto any avatar with animations that will adapt to the avatar's FX animation controller with the use of the free VRCFury tool.

An alternate stockless variant with a vertical foregrip is also included.

The model itself is a refurbishing of an entry from my Charrtober 2021 art challenge, and isn't strictly from TWoR's lore, or designed with VRChat in mind, but future Stormrod props will be.

Interactivity Update

A significant addition to the rudimentary functions of the original prop, this update greatly expands the amount of ways that the prop can be manipulated, and the orders in which the prop can be operated. You can now do things like dry firing, firing out of battery, and unloading/safing. Due to the animation sequence no longer being linear, the bolt controls needed to be separated into two different contact receivers, which means that a thumb contact sender must be added to the avatar to drive the bolt home, as the index finger is now only used for disengaging the bolt. Instructions on how to do this this is included in the tutorial video. This version of the prop is the Complex version, and the original Simple version is still available if you would rather have that one.

Requirements

• VRChat Avatar SDK Version 3.1.13 or newer (For Unity Version 2019.4.31f1)
• VRCFury Version 1.410.0 or newer (Required for intended functionality. Can be configured to function without it with the corresponding expertise)
• A contact sender with the "Thumb" collision tag must be added to your avatar to be compatible with the the Complex version

Known Issues

The transition from HammerPrimerlessOutOfBattery was missing the condition "Primer" to PrimerOutOfBattery, which prevented the primer from being attached while the bolt was unlocked. This has been rectified and is awaiting implementation on the Complex prop, though this can also be fixed manually in the meantime.

Purchasing this product entitles the end user a use only license to utilize the content included for personal usage cases, such as:

• a: Implementing the models included in this product as a free mod for a video game, as well as being commissioned to implement the models as a free mod for a video game.
• b: Creating non commercial renders of the models included in this product. Animators may be compensated for their effort in the production of animations created in conjunction with this product, but renders featuring this product may not be used in any commercial capacity, nor can the process of rendering be monetized when featuring this product's models.
• c: Implementing the content as/on an Avatar for use in titles such as VRChat, NeosVR, ChilloutVR, or any such title that necessitates the use of an avatar to partake in the functions of the title.
• d: Using the animation files, audio files, controller layers, meshes, materials, and prefabs on other such avatars owned by the end user, as well as being commissioned to situate these assets on other avatars for third parties that have purchased this product.
• e: Using the content included in this product in a VRChat world. (Credit is appreciated, but not required)
• f: Modifying this product's contents in an expressive manner to better conform to the end user's personal exploits.
• g: Commissioning or enlisting the help of a third party to assist in the modification and implementation of this product for the end user, provided that the third party has purchased this product under their own volition, thereby having agreed to these terms.

-Usage cases that have not been explicitly outlined are not allowed without my permission.

-End users have no authority to sublicense the privileges or responsibilities granted to them by the purchase of this product.

It is prohibited to redistribute the assets contained within this product for purposes including, but not limited to:

• a: Reselling either the entirety, or individual parts of this product, or providing it to others freely.
• b: Retailing these assets in an arrangement with separate assets in an attempt to constitute them as a separate product.
• c: Transforming any of the assets into a derivative work with the intention of retailing such work as a distinct product from the original.

It is furthermore prohibited to:

• a: Utilize either the entirety, or parts of this product as assets for a commercial production, such as a movie or video game. Monetized or sponsored videos and streams that feature this product indirectly are not prohibited.

By purchasing this product, you agree to the following:

• a: I am in no way liable for the mishandling, damaging, or unintentional destruction of files or data received from this product.
• b: I am not responsible for this product's failure to conform to the end user's personal exploits, nor do I make any guarantee of it's operability in the contexts it is marketed for, notably due to the fact that this product's compatibility with it's intended medium depends greatly on things I cannot control.
• c: The license to use this product does not provide the end user with any intellectual property rights or copyrights associated with this product, nor does it grant ownership over this product. All rights to the ownership, intellectual property rights and copyrights of this product, it's design, and the fiction it represents are reserved solely for myself.
• d: Your purchase is final. I cannot offer refunds due to my inability to govern this product's termination on an end user's database in the event they are dissatisfied with their purchase of this product.
• e: This license does not burden me with the obligation to educate the end user in how to modify and implement this product in their personal exploits.
• f: I am not liable for any economic injury, be it directly, indirectly, or consequentially due to the end user's inability to use this product.

-This license stands to be terminated should the end user fail to comply with any of the terms outlined above.

-These Terms of Use may be updated without notice in the future to account for a larger variety of legitimate usage cases, specify further on unauthorized actions, or amend existing terms. Acceptance of updated terms in the future is inferred by continued use of the product.
