Just a little update ...

Just thought I'd drop in and get you up to speed on where I am with 0.5.3. Please note that, as always, this is all work I've crammed in around my day job!

So Heather's 3rd scene is done, Jennifer's 3rd scene is almost done (so excited to get this one out), I've added a couple more items to the stores, written 1 (of 3) stat/text sheets for the random gloryhole strangers, and I'm currently working on adding in a new more elegant quest/conversation check function - meaning that if you have any 'active quests' and you bump into any of the NPCs outside of it and talk to them in regular conversation, if they have something to say relevant to that quest! Again, it's all more work I'll have to do going in and adding these extra lines of dialogue, but for example, if you've been to Simmonds Hall on a tuesday and the art instructor has said you can come back to model next week, if you talk to Kevin, there'll be an extra conversation option open up along the lines of "Dude, would you ever consider taking all your clothes off for money?"

It'll make the NPCs a little more fun to seek out and talk to, and hopefully will make the game outside of the cutscene/events feel a little more fun and interesting!

Also, and this is super hush hush, but ... I've been in talks with an online friend who I've worked with in the past in a totally different capacity and she's a super talented artist too and, well, lets just say that my dream of eventually switching out the AI generated art for actual hand-drawn stuff might be coming to fruition a little sooner than expected!

It's still super early days and don't worry, this won't in any way affect the speed of this release cycle no matter what ends up happening. I'm still aiming for and determined to hit my monthly (or thereabouts) releases as per the roadmap I've shared on the About section of this Patreon. And i'll be using AI to hit those targets. But potentially, bubbling away behind the scenes will be an artist slowly working away too, meaning that at some point when things catch up and align, the game might get a really cool glossy makeover!

I know some folk love the AI art, some hate it, it's a real divisive thing, so if it hit that point, I'd most likely have a toggle in settings where you could decide which version of the art you wanted the game to display.

Okay, that's it for now. I'm hoping to get a ton more work done at the weekend and I'll be back with another update (and hopefully a 0.5.3 test build) sometime soon!

x
