Episode 100 - Sailing Pickle Family A fish out of water, we go deeper into the Sahara to an Oasis!

It really is strange being so deep into the Sahara desert when you live full time on a boat! It's completely different from the very watery existence we are use to! But the Sahara does not disappoint, it is awe inspiring with its huge rolling dunes, sweltering heat, crystal clear skies and fresh air to breath! The camels are surprisingly friendly, and we enjoy many nights around the fire, enjoying good food, good company and having a right giggle and well deserved rest after the long days trekking! Watch us as we learn to live without washing, surrender to the sandy existence and try and avoid some of the crazy wildlife and thats not just the wolves, wild dog and giant rodents, we're more concerned with the beetles, spiders, snakes and giant ticks which are absolutely everywhere!  Join us on Friday as we trek out of the desert back to civilisation and travel further south to visit some Star Wars sets, and experience the beautiful culture in Southern Tunisia!

My mums crazy fit! She put us all to shame out there in the desert! We all had such a brilliant time! X

Wonderful, your Mum did so well I don't think I could have done all that walking or coped with all that sand! x

This was filmed in October, the weather was mild it was in the 80s poss 90s during the day I think and can get down to 0 at night although I don’t think it did get quite that cold. πŸ‘

Thanks Angus! It’s funny how everyone has such different experiences even though we’re all doing the same stuff! Perspective is everything ☺️ and yes lots of nasty bugs which I think everyone agreed were yuk!! 🀣

Sailing Pickle Family

Those ticks definitely freaked us out! We didn’t like the creepy crawlies at all! 😬

Sailing Pickle Family

What was the average temperature there during the day and at night? It looks rather comfortable. Are you filming this in July-August?

Gary Mussell

Like the interviews of the family of the things of the trip each enjoyed. Then all the ugh stuff. Mostly bugs & especially tics. Good video Nicky.
