No Video This Week!

I did it finally.

For the past three years I have uploaded a new video every Monday without fail, and today, Monday April 23rd, I finally did it. I failed.

But for good reason, I think!

The video essay I was working on for this week ended up being even more sprawling than I could have anticipated, and instead of rushing it out being 70% of what it could be, I'd like to take some extra time making it as awesome as I know it deserves to be. I've had to half-ass some things on video essays in the past, and this time I'm putting my foot down! No half-assing this. Fully assing this bad boy.

Why is it only 70% there? Part of it is the length, I'm aiming for 20 minutes, which is a pain in the ass to actually achieve with the kind of rapid edit timing I like to use. Part of it is because the subject matter that I decided to tackle is big, and also, it's in a subject I'm not totally at home in. I can rant about theory all day long, but the second I've waded into linguistics and philosophy, I need to research. I thought I could put in the amount of research I needed between Monday and now, but...I couldn't.

In the first draft of the essay I had for tomorrow, I got a lot wrong.

So between it being only about 70% of what it could be and the first draft being factually wonky, I'm going to make the executive decision and say...

No video this week! Sorry guys, I hope you understand. The following week will be epic!
