2017-12-25 06:03:50 +0000 UTCI heard double bass was "double" the size of a cello. Therefore, a 3/4, 5/8 or 7/8 size bass is reduced from the 2/2 ratio to make the physical size of the double bass manageable. I have no documentation to back this up. Just what I've heard.
