I'm trying to push myself this year with the poses, I can only do so many 3/4 sitting poses before I start to turn into an ooze lol
I adore this skin so goshdang much, when deciding on what I want to draw for this month, I had the whole Bilbo "After all, why shouldn't I." talk and considered doing this one IN THIS sort of pose/angle as "spoiling myself" :^) lmao I have an ancient sketch that's probably long gone of Dva in her water-jet-ski skin in a SIMILAR pose, and it might have been before she got the victory pose/highlight intro of her lying on top of her Mech?? Idk, all I know is, I owed it to myself to finally see the vision through :')
One thing that I struggled with, from an ~artsy fart~ angle, was adding enough... maybe cool tones, or SOMETHING in the bottom left corner to try and break up the PINK/ORANGE/GOLD that dominates the majority of the image. Putting it in the glint of her eyes and in the shadows of the underside of the carboard front of the mech was my only solution (that I can seeeee) but it was a challenge to incorporate more without washing out the image I geuss~??
Idk if reading this kind of stuff helps to hear for people learning, OR if anyone can suggest some color theory/lighting tactics that might work~?? :P JUST A LIL RAMBLIN in my old age :') ♥
I might be doin... a Baldur's gate shipping thing again for my second, but holy heck this month is movin by, so we'll see how much of an undertaking Im willing to fit in!

I absolutely love how this turned out! I reallt admire that you're pushing yourself to learn/improve! Really cute choice of the jeans shorts on the second variant! I like reading your thoughts/ramblings, it gives a look into your process, challenges and decisions! <3 It's crazy how fast this month is flying by.

Shockingly I did not, normally I Frankenstein together a pose from multiple references but this one somehow came together with only a LITTLE extension of her back :P I just took a TON of in-game screenshots for every victory pose and highlight intro screenshot I could snag of her in this outfit, that gave be angles I needed lmao (And I only realize now looking back on them that I forgot the scissors in her back pocket :') AH WELL. She does have one pose where shes almost in a pose like this for a victory pose, but it's not QUITE right (and also so small/far away :') )
