Short Story Ideas - September (and an apology)

It's that time again to choose the short story of the month. Had a lot of fun writing the last one, so I'm excited to get into this month's.

First though, I'd like to apologize for the lack of a novella last month. Underestimated the amount of time that goes into writing some 20k~ words in a month, on top of two short stories, captions, and audio content (and a day job). And even if it wasn't part of my initial plan, I've been pushing for more caption focus lately, as I find them more fun and sustainable to produce. Plus, y'all seem to really like em.

This has led me to a difficult but necessary decision: I will be phasing out the scheduled monthly novella. This DOES NOT mean I'm stopping novellas altogether! They will become a premium, unscheduled offering, similar to audio content. In fact, I'm halfway through one now and I'm excited to share it with you when it's ready. I just couldn't finish it last month.
