the extra charges for the upgraded carwash tiers are usually undercarriage wash(which is water sprayed when entering the carwash), perhaps a wax that is sprayed on that helps water from clinging to windows and car shell), or sometimes soap that is sprayed on that helps a little with dirt that clings deeper and may need some elbow grease to scrape off
