I was watching the rest of the Sweetums reaction (Tom moving out) which I got interrupted on finishing about 15 minutes in on the first watch. Tom's not usually as bad as in that episode of course, but he does remind me a lot about somebody I used to know IRL who was very much like him and tried to make everything a joke when he upset people.

2024-11-04 23:13:01 +0000 UTCit was when she fell into the pit and they had the upskirt photos of her for some odd writing reason it showed him scanning them and forwarding them or something like that, and it just put a bad taste in my mouth ever since. if they hadn't showed that, i would be in the same boat as you and just feel kinda mid about him. but after that i couldn't even try to empathize or connect with him

And I may be worse than Dean, because I don’t remember the underwear thing. But he’s harmless and fine. I don’t get why the character exists, but I don’t hate the character. That’s what I’m getting at.

2024-11-01 20:41:06 +0000 UTCi don't like mark; it feels like the writers don't know what to do with him. on one hand, he's supposed to be the "jim" of the show. the funny "straight man" to every one else's nonsense. the voice of reason. and it seemed like we're meant to root for him and leslie. but then he takes the photos of her underwear showing and scans them and yeahhhh....not cool or decent at all. then after that, he's just sort of...nothing. he doesn't have a direction in the show and that makes it hard for me to connect with his character.
