Egyptian Grandeur! - May Release Video

Hello dear Patron,

Dammit !

We were so sure we would share this one with you much earlier this month !

But there is no fiddling with Egyptian Gods without being cursed!

Well, ok, not really cursed but at least bitten in the butt!

Anyway, things were going super fine, we were super on time and then we had to work on the modular scenery… And that is when the curse hit…

I won’t go into details because there is nothing really exciting, just that… it took some time and some stuff got derailed.

But hey, it’s here in all its splendour and boy… this is an insane kit.

And do I need to remind you that if you switch to Overlord Tier, you get this scenery as a fully modular set with many accessories, plus an insane set of troops?

Yes, I know it is really insane for the price…

What’s in the release?

As always, we wanted to create items you would be able to use even if you do not play an Egyptian themed game.

Well, if you don’t, you might want to reconsider because there is some serious awesomeness here. Man, I’m just thinking about how to find the time to run a new campaign with that one!

But just in case, we thought about options:

First, it might be obvious but you can play Egyptians in a wide variety of settings: Ancient Egypt of course, but also Steampunk, Fantasy, and even SciFi. It won’t be hard to use these minis in a Stargate-like game or even with some more Gothic SciFi.

Then we thought: “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to have some Ratmen pillaging these tombs…?”

But these Ratmen could be pillaging literally anything…

Oh, and wouldn’t it be fun if they faced two human adventurers who are also on a raiding expedition. Well, there is a man and a woman in this release who might spark some memories in you…

There is also a magnificent giant bird who would make the perfect mount for a High Elves king or queen.

And there is a giant snake that you could use in literally any setting.

So you’ve got plenty of options!

Sync Alternative

If you missed that piece of information, we are now using MyAirBridge on top of Sync, so you have two different sources to get your files from.

You’ll soon get another update about the file release.

Greek Madness

Finally, let me remind you about the new Greek Expansion we’ve released a few days ago on My Mini Factory. This is a compilation of characters and creatures of previous releases that would fit in a Greek setting. We’ve put this pack together in case you’d want to go all-in with the Greeks but missed some of our previous releases.

You can also get part 1 of our Greek release in case you’ve missed it.

AND we’ve got a Patrons’ only sale available until the end of this Friday, check out this post to get the deets!

Onward with the Vikings

And so, as promised, June's release will be Vikings! Be ready for some serious Norse awesomeness. Several of the models are already done and it’s going to be VERY cool :)

In the meantime, I hope you like the Egyptian release :)
Let us know which are your faves in the comments, and how you intend to play them.

Have a great day!

Comments

Is there a discord or something like that to discuss hobby related questions? I'm curious as to how people are mounting some of these with very delicate footprints.

Christopher Young

Also, they send the files to a 3rd party group to be supported. They said somewhere that they try to have all the files supported by the 10th, if I remember right.

eyflfla

Where is the overlord release for this? I only see the Leader release

Sean Taylor

Yes they usually release the files on/after the 4th day of the month. This is due to the way patreon processes payments.

Ryan Connolly

First time I sign this Patreon. Generally, is there this delay in releasing the files?

Maurício Araújo

can't wait

wimpiewombat

When will May’s release?

Maurício Araújo

Thanks for the help! Much appreciated!

Charles Atkins

They usually do it in the first few days of the month. They were trying to get it done earlier, but planning fallacy I guess. Usually the files come out in the first week, and the supported versions come out a few days after. This is because a 3rd party, Atlas/3DSS, does the supports. They're active in the discord channel and super friendly and helpful.

eyflfla

we are going to try opalescent inks

Monica Smith

And how do I find my welcome pack files?

Charles Atkins

I have found some white marble filament which I intend to use (plain white without flecks) and use liquid mask on all the parts I don't want paint on.

nightlurker

There are acrylic inks you can get with white marble effects, that might help you nicely.

Jason Grubb

I know this sounds like a huge ask but this could be done by adding some scars/mummy wrappings to exposed skin surfaces and swapping heads for skulls/tomb masks

Reavernator

I've been trying to figure it out as well. Was thinking painting it white with a brownish wash then layering back up with an off white.

Ty Melrose

I’d love a Camel!!! 🐪 It’s fitting, though they are uncomfortable to ride. So tall, and those shoulder blades! Maybe I didn’t have enough padding IDK... Anyway, a WarCamel would be awesome!!!

Christopher Barnes

Love it! That was my favorite song when I was like 5 or 6!

Christopher Barnes

So when will May’s release

Jason DeLong

Hello :) Yes you are right - but on the other side I think these living forms are good to create some Egyptian Imperium Army (like the time before they got death) :)

Oliver Bode

I was afraid of that. I was thinking maybe a white primer with a gloss finish might mimic the effects.

John Weyen

It's digital effects, not real painting.

Hologramme

I'm wondering, how do you paint those models to look like they do in your videos?

John Weyen

Thanks for your kind words and support. Indeed, business is certainly not as usual, and unexpected Covid personal tragedies have been hard on morale. But having a supportive community like the one we have here helps a lot! - Mireille

Raging Heroes

The camel's name is Enid, she gets very upset when people forget her.🐪

nightlurker

Looks great. Keep up the good work.

Pedro Gomes

" short on human resources" Yes, how quickly we all forget that you guys have been doing all this during covid, and _still_ producing better and better releases each month. Imagine when we're all vaccinated and the world has returned to normal.

eyflfla

Great! Yes, that is the plan, we have been a bit short on human resources, but we do intend to increase our release speed to MMF.

Raging Heroes

I'm really enjoying all the fantasy, Angels, Greek, Egyptian... I noticed that you had some other cool sets like the vampires collection but they are not on myminifactory eventually will you have all your previous releases on there?

Seth

POLL: Optional undead versions. Click the heart if you agree

Reavernator

That sounds awesome. Wouldn't it be great if RH could add an optional undead body to these minis... I know many TK players who would become patreons for this

Reavernator

Hello dear Raging Heros Team :) My absolutely Favorite is Kerun'Aptrah (on Giant Scarab). She would be a special Character in my Warhammer Fantasy army (Tomb Kings). I think it is an hard job, cause so much Patreons do egyptian Stuff - and you made them in your style :)

Oliver Bode

Absolutely fantastic. I'm so glad I'm a subscriber

Daithi O'Cuinn

Totally amazing and wonderful! This terrain is also special!

War Mammoth

That.... That was amazing.

Roddy Novogradac

Really good stuff here. I was going to take a break this month to catch up on older releases but I just can't pass this up.

Brian Cherrington

i have some doubts but i really love it, awesome work!

Jessie Rasberry

That Scarab! I've been wanting A Khemric Titan for a long time, this will be great, if needed scale it up...wow.

Glitterwolf

Wow... they are beautiful and the idea of Laar'Iha and Bra'ndahn is brilliant

Martin Z

Omgomgomgomgomg

ErisTheMenace

Loving the release, I would have liked some "simple" human soldiers but I get your thought process, they are indeed in a lot of ranges already. The models look stunning as usual, only god I'm missing (though the Egyptians had more gods than I have stl files) is Sobek. Crocodile god could have been an amazing model as well. Keep up the amazing work and can't wait for June.

Kristof

This is freaking awesome! Was a little bummed at no pyramid, but boy, you guys are smashing it!!

Luke Salter

I was wondering how you could do Egyptian without undead now I know completely blown away by this set cant wait to get printing

Grant Cramond

This is just awesome! That centrepiece will be my new display board.

Glitterwolf

WOW, amazing miniatures !

Robert Egli

I’m so happy with all these so far. My players are going to a plane with vampires, but there’s also a greek inspired plane, and an egyptian one. So I’m so excited to get to use these! (Magic the Gathering setting)

Angela Basset

Include an mp3 of this music?

Studio Silvernale

I don't know if it would be possible but an undead option allowing skull and mummy wrapped body proxies would have me printing these by the bucket load.

Reavernator

Will overlord tier be able to print the snake riders separate from their snakes? If so that's like a 3 for 1!

Erik Waring

AMAZING!!! you never disappoint every month is better than the last. I have to cut a few Patreons this month to get under budget but this one is No1 on my list and isn't going anywhere except on my printer next week :)

Lisa Kellogg

I mean I actually am a fan of this set. Digging the Seth and Anubis sculpts. Honestly for me and my groups the vampire set was spot on that's when I started. But then the Greek sets were kinda like, "They're cool but I would never use them..maybe I'll unsub for a bit.." But then this happened and I'm like well guess I am staying.

Po_OTato

Seconded, though I fully understand the artistic freedom to expand beyond the tropes, undead Egyptian aesthetics are a personal favorite. Though I do notice that a certain Osiris is omitted, thus leaving the door open to a revisit in the future.

overlordnik

If you follow Vikings with Japanese Heroes and Gods I will be very pleased.....

Robert Myers

Okay I think that I have a good idea "Retro 1950's style Sci-fi" Aliens, Robot, Space Vixens and Rocket Heroes.

Marcus L.J. Schneider

Dat Apophis tho

Black Viking Costumes

same!

Alice

Can I put in a plug for some hold guards in the Vikings set as one of the troop options? Just cloth over light mail and full face helmets in a Nordic style, ideally two male and two female. I can't find passable stormcloak proxies for the elder scrolls anywhere.

Broc Reed

Also, the following month could be an all female Dwarven Kingdom :)

David Núñez

OK, I wasn't so sure about this month theme, but as always you surpass my expectations. Great work! For next month vikings be sure to include enough viking girls :)

David Núñez

Does seem to be the way of it with this patreon, though to be honest they aren't the only patreon that operates that way. Bite the Bullet and CoW both just finished uploading the last of their April sets. It used to be more of an issue when they were tied to Sync but now that they have a MyAirBridge option I can just download the entire set on the last day or two and delete what I already had, then unpack the newly downloaded set and bam, I have it all.

Erik Waring

I've been subscribed since the beginning with the Pirates set and this Patreon never disappoints. I don't even know how it's possible to have that much imagination and talent. I was a little dissappointed when I very first heard about Greek Gods 2 but once I saw them I liked that set even more than the first! My players have a choice of where to head next in my game world (run to might be more accurate) and I'm hoping they head south where I will be able to use this and both Greek sets.

Erik Waring

Fantastic set, and a great video. The models themselves are super in detail, posing, etc., but I also wanted to mention that I like the color schemes you guys choose when making the renders. That extra detail really helps the models come alive for me, and gives me ideas for painting them. You and your crew are top notch! :)

Rob Leonard

So is this going to be another month where the complete set of files including corrections/repairs won't be made available until the last few days of the month, not to mention the mess of files people have to wade through in order to find out whether there are any updated files they need to grab so that they are able to print stuff after the end of the month as well as ensuring they have all the files including corrected and updated ones?

Dan Fuller

This is amazing! Probably my favorite release yet. Here’s hoping for a part II ;)

Stephen Pfann

Wow! So happy to be here... That gave me tingles.

Andrew Pryor

Ho boy, these are absolutely killer! I've been with you guys since the spiders and I'm still sincerely impressed with how you step it up on every release

Broc Reed

Extremely cool. I know there are a small amount of people that don't like the undead theme but the tomb kings popularity is undeniable (hence why so much content continues to be released). What are the chances that some of the gods could have undead options? I can remember the vampire set having masked and unmasked options... how about some head/skull proxies allowing living/undead options?

Reavernator

The brendan frasier mummy, and lara croft reference kill me! Love all them so much!!!

Stephanie Lawton

As an Egyptian, I must say...you did an amazing job with that release The only thing I might have added are chariots, a staple of the old egyptian war machines Great job guys, keep it up

Muhammad Sammy

Man, really looking forward to these, I'm an old Tomb King player, and since the death of the faction have been struggling to find things that could work as proxies for my old army. These will fit nicely ^_^ If I had the ability to request though? Chariots would be cool, as would a version of the snake rider that was part man, part snake (Never was able to find Sepulchre Stalkers in the end), and maybe some ranged units, bows or javelins.

John Lacy

So may minis, so little time.... But beautiful they are.

Marco van Deutekom

Still likely to skip June (way too many Vikings already, but no preview yet to tempt me), but damn am I sticking with Overlord for May. Absolutely phenomenal work!

Micah Raymond Maloney

A great set, and no mummies in sight so that gets a huge thumbs up from me, i can see a few of these being printed and painted in May.

Raven

Jesus Christ, this set is absolutely amazing! The gods and the troops are so good and the terrain.... The terrain is insane, so much detail and possibilities! Thank you so much for the amazing work !

Axel Stengel

"All the school kids so sick of books They like the punk and the metal band When the buzzer rings (oh whey oh) They're walking like an Egyptian" You are doing beautiful work as usual and I am excited for the new miniature. Okay, I'll ask. Any chance for miniatures of The Bangles, Susanna Hoffs, Vicki Peterson, Debbi Peterson, and Annette Zilinskas walking like Egyptians?

Charles Sontag

Awesome!!!

Tobias Schneider

Holy moly! This is simply just jaw dropping 😮 The value is just amazing, so many models. Keep up the amazing work👏🙏

Christoffer Robin Nøklestad

A few days earlier this time. Good on improving. :) Overall, this is my least favorite set. The miniatures look fantastic, I'm just not a fan of Egyptian themed games. I'm not canceling, though. The work the artists put in is top notch, after all.

Stephen Brewer

OMG. I only hope we get 4 last min additions: E'vie the Libriarian Ben'nahy the Horseman A camel BUT OMG this is amazing.

Ravyn Schmidt

Im gonna need another printer

Chris Grant

This is a really, really great set. Wow.

Stevan Brasel

Eh

Austin

THIS IS SO COOL

Jaibor

I wasn't sure what to expect, But damn this is awesome. I love the troops and God's!

Lux Blubblub

Amazing as well as astonishing. Great work! :D

Sumsibert

As a fan of Egyptian culture for me this is incredible. Great job as always.

DeathWolf

You guys gave done this theme proud. Really excited to get printing on these!

Ben Newman

Pretty sneaky with those human names, lol. Love everything im seeing, great job!

ShogunLogan

This is wicked!!!

Joy Doner

I asked for more snakes, and more snakes I received. Excellent.
