First off let me just say thank you for your excitement and enthusiasm for this month’s theme!
I have really been floored with just how incredibly popular this collection has been: The numbers don’t lie, it has been the most popular release we have ever had!!
That excitement carried over into the launch of the Overlord Tier, with 1 in every 3 of you now subscribing at that level. Although it was a big surprise that so many of you levelled up to that tier, it makes total sense: for just a $6 add-on it is such a ridiculously low price for a crazy amount of miniatures.
Paul Goodwin summed it up in his comment:

Greek Gods and Heroes Part II
As always I’ve read all your comments for ideas on next month’s release and by a wide margin, the overwhelming request was for Greek Gods and Heroes part II.
As always, I try to design the characters so that even if you don’t play a Greek-themed game, you’ll find many things in the release that you’ll be able to use and this month is no exception.
Our team is now close to finishing April’s collection. Stay tuned for the reveal trailer towards this coming week when we will show off new gods, new monsters, new heroes and or course new troops! There is some seriously cool stuff!!!
I have also tried to explore a few less known characters for that release. Of course, there will be some big star names, but also a few less known characters. We have an awesome casting for this new episode ;)
Future themes?
Many of the other themes you suggested in the comments mostly revolved around other mythologies; Vikings, Native Americans, Aztecs and Mayans. Is it something you want us to explore now or do you have something else in mind for the next release? Please continue to share your ideas, we are listening!
Also as promised we are about to send you a big poll about Heroes Infinite to get a more precise feel of what you are looking for.
Judging by the success of the new Overlord Tier (if you want to upgrade to Overlord, here is how), which was built on some of your requests, there are probably a few tweaks we can make to this Patreon to make you even happier.
File Storage
We know that many of you really don't like the Sync file-sharing system and some of you had real problems with it. Just so you know, we are just as frustrated with the system. We are currently investigating several options that can provide you with online storage, a personalised membership area, and a very easy way to download your files.
MyMiniFactory is of course one of the options, but there are a lot of changes and evolutions in the industry at the moment and we don't want to make you move to a new system just to change everything again, make you migrate to another platform and make you run after your files in two or three months.
Yes, I know, sometimes downloading the files can be a pain, but please bear with us just a little bit more, you’ll soon have a very cool and effective system.
A Really Cool Diorama
Have you had a chance to print or paint some of your Greeks minis already?
Mikey from Hellstorm Wargaming showed off this month’s collection in his last weekend’s Coffee Time episode on YouTube. It is a really entertaining build, and it’s great to see another hobbyist get just as over-excited and just as carried away with a project as I do.
We had been talking to Mikey about just printing a couple of miniatures and talking about what he thought of them.
Well… this escalated very quickly after he got the files... particularly when he got his hands on the new troop units.
You should go check out his super cool diorama and if you like it, give him a shout out. Mikey is a great guy, really entertaining and knowledgeable about the hobby, and he will be appearing on our website later this month with the first-ever in a series of guest blogs!

How about a little "what if?" on Sci-Fi as envisioned by people in the '50s with a little dash of Mad Scientist and some of their crazy creations. I know it's been done, but I think you can do it better, or at least maybe put a different spin on it. Steampunk is also an option, but that is even more common- but for a reason, it's popular.

2021-03-30 14:57:26 +0000 UTCshield wall with shields in front AND shields overhead... maybe a few tall ones so they could cover a few of your heroes who aren't carrying shields and are in the midst of the group? the world serpent is a good gigantic monster for it... just have it and thor in poses where they're facing off... maybe have a cliff edge that thor can stand on? or a rig for him to look like he's flying? lots of monster options - trolls, giants, undead. be sure to include odin's horse that has... 8 legs (i think it's 8, maybe 10?)

2021-03-30 14:48:59 +0000 UTCwhat about something like the goa'uld from stargate? egyptian deities BUT also super science. i.e. the pyramid can fly <<< centerpiece. pyramid, with the option to put it on landscape where it looks like it's taking off/flying has a resurrection sarcophagus, teleportation rings <<< scatter terrain, can put inside pyramid or wherever a stargate (if fantasy, it's called a portal) << make one style, but maybe have a couple of bases for it in different settings? the soldiers have animal heads, just have one of each type of soldier holding the head (a helmet) in his arms so you can see he (or she) is a person. have male and female soldiers. animal heads like jackal, eagle, crocodile, cobra, hyena, etc and of course the gods themselves. gods can have two forms - their normal, beautiful, regal forms, and then a battle form - where they have their animal head and are in beautiful golden armours. so, for fantasy, you don't use the soldiers who aren't wearing a helmet. you CAN use it for sci-fi if needed. a staff that blasts someone - it's lightning... but it is like a laser, or just magic? so have lightning effects coming off some of the weapons. can use effects like yall did with zeus and such this way, you have fantasy AND sci-fi and the vast majority of the set can be used in either setting... even in fantasy, the heroes could have created a jackal helmet so they can try to blend in with the soldiers of the gods... you can have chariots, boats, perhaps even some kind of airships --- it's the boat, but with outstretched "wings". i'm putting this, because i can't remember (off the top of my head) what kind of mounts they'd have in egypt... maybe a hero rides a big lion? like, you have the hero and the lion (without a saddle) for adventuring/fighting, but also you have the hero riding the lion. also, maybe for tie-ins to other (future) sets... marc antony and cleopatra are two heroes? they can have a chariot they share maybe folks will notice this post - and if you like it --- PLEASE upvote it!! :)

Once I finish this month's download, I will be canceling my subscription and the reason being your use of Sync. Sync has been getting worse every month, and even downloading single files (which is a work around, not a solution) takes forever. It has nothing to do with my speed, it has to do with Sync's downloads being ridiculously slow. Most other creators have switched over to MMF or provide MMF downloads for their Patrons as well as Sync or Dropbox. However Heroes Infinite has resisted this. I am through wasting my time with Sync. If this ever changes, I may come back. But until this is fixed, I am no longer supporting this Patreon.

I love the work, but I've already missed one month due to internet/sync issues (my internet is *bad*, it takes me about eight hours downloading overnight and hoping it doesn't fail after I go to bed). Since you say you're working on it I'm going to stick around but as the only mini patreon I'm subbed to that's not on MMF, I'm not sure where the rub is, it doesn't seem likely to go anywhere. edit: Also, you're on MMF already, which is what's really confusing about the whole situation, it's not like you need to upload your files somewhere you haven't...

I sub to around 8-10 different miniatures creators, and I am seriously just considering dropping anyone who is still using only Sync and has no other alternatives.

2021-03-29 16:53:27 +0000 UTCHey guys I rarely comment but I want to make two points. 1. The file system thing has to be fixed. I've spent a frustrating morning fighting with Sync. Please just go with MMF like the majority of patrons are asking. I've subscribed since month one and love you minis. I think having all my sets on MMF is a reasonable thing to ask for as does a majority of your subscribers it seems. 2. I'm going to throw out a completely different idea for the future. How about some late 16th/early 17th century swashbucklers? Musketeers and the Red Guard, Italian duelists, courtesans, nobles with hidden blades? Base it off the Three Musketeers/7th Sea kind of setting. I think you could have a lot of fun with that and it has little chance of duplicating with other Patreons like a lot of the mythologies might. I love your sculpts and I didn't mind too much about the extra $6 for Overlord, but I find my Patreon bill increasing and at some point something will have to go. Being $16 instead of $10 puts a target on your guys especially if I have to struggle to get my files. I'll keep doing $16, but you guys have to deliver on the technical end it you are going to get it.

I would love to see lines that were already made getting some either ability to make ourselves (and mind you it doesn't have to be the entire line at once.) Ultimately I bought a lot of your physical models already, but the ease of 3d printing and the sheer volume of amazing prints has led me away from a lot of physical model stores. I would instead love to buy from you amazing prints that either add on to the existing range or allow us to slowly make those ranges ourselves.

I spend a lot of time and money on patreons who do stls and I love the ones who autolink with mmf that I have the security if my hard drive dies(which it recently did) that my files are safe, getting the ones back is a snap and if I miss ones I am not screwed. I Love MMF and the fact that you can charge for individual models would be a huge boon for you. I know you have hesitations but please please look into this. I know many Patreon 3d artists who use it and I would be happy to message you about fellow artist you might be able to engage in a dialogue to ask how they were on the fence how they use it and how it has helped them. It also allows you to fix any files that have errors on the backend and mmf emails us when you update them. It's really a win win.

The theme of darkness and decadence would really fit your artistic stlye! (if you google "Splitter Elric" you find tons of preview material). The world of Melnibonné in your hands would be wow!

This, combined with no update in the change log from RH since 23rd (now being the 28th) I am out. Will keep am eye on things develop over the next few months but right now it is not worth the frustration of staying with this Patreon. I will stick with other Patreons like Archvillian Games who also have jaw dropping minis.

I personally would like to see more wood elves, dark elves or the sisters, though the ocean one was really fun too. Maybe some wizard themed release with different archetypes? I'm hard-pressed to think of a line of minis with a wild west theme that aren't designed specifically for one particular game or the other, much less one of the caliber which you all frequently pump out.

Always down for some more elves - maybe wood elves or high elves, since the dark elves are already pretty well represented on the main site? A Romano-Briton/Romano-Gallic theme could have a great mix of Celtic and Latin features, I'm sure you could something brilliant with that!

The werewolves in all types of other we're creatures. Secondly I would say dark elves was another one. Any type of elf thyme would be very cool. Third would be something just Syfy would be nice. That baboon god waiting plus a pose where he's devouring an evil person. A 3-4 layer nested sarcophagus for that Overload tier. Add in some soldiers on foot and on chariots fighting the Hittites.

They were an insectoid race. An assortment of soldiers, some sitting, some dead, would fit in with the ships from 2nd Dynasty.

Even if there are others coming out many of us have a lot of our files on MMF and would like to keep them there instead of another hosting service.

The most important thing I really love to hear is that you are working on a way to somehow store the downloads. Having a system like MMF helps people like me, who don't print everything that month and not having to worry about our storage systems at some time breaking down. Now back to the miniatures, I would love to see some miniatures from modern times around ghost hunting, because that is the campaign I'm doing at the moment, but I fear I could be the only one :)

MMF is used by all other Patreons I support and everything is on one site. I likely will not join yet a different site to access your files. Other companies (outside of Patreon) have done this, it's just too many sites and too cumbersome. MMF is central and user friendly

Go for the Witcher's Bestiary, which can be tied to Vikings. However, if you do go for Vikings as the "troops" please make them have varied weapons and mix historical accuracy with fantasy as much as you can. I don't know how tired the whole Fantasy audience is of shredded half naked men in pelts, but I'd rather have a Viking soldier than THOR the Viking Stripper.

I really exceptionally hate the 'dowload off the server or loose it forever' style, because I have had hard drives die, and I loose all my files, and never get them back because I can Not Remember how many Patreons I've backed, and how many I've downloaded. PLEASE - What ever system you do, please for the love of Aphrodite make it so we can get previous releases that we've paid for. I love backing you guys, but I HATE the 'download only available this month' after I've paid for the files.

Other people are right, I don't see a lot of Native American stuff out there. Seems like it'd be real easy. You could do the Wild West one month, and Native Americans the next! Not a Marvel version please, but something more authentic and with some realism or grim-dark style. Norse mythology is very dark. Sacrificing body parts to please the gods. Valkyrie would be easy for Raging Heroes. Hel with half her face beautiful and the other half dead would be very interesting to sculpt and paint. Fenrir the wolf would also be a great interest piece. The dwarven smiths would satisfy the bardic interests. I think that while it superficially seems like a done-to-death topic, there would be a real chance to do something pretty artistic here. Not sure if the Heroes Infinite style fits, because it is often very dynamic, but after the Vampires and demon batches there seems to be some artists there that are willing to take some chances on some interest pieces. I absolutely loved the Saphania Soul Smuggler piece. It was very much in the style of Charon (River Styx) and would absolutely fit this month's theme in that regard.

I know they have been done everywhere, but it never hurts to have more norses, as long as they are varied I can keep using them, to make mobs without that "clone" feeling. Same for goblins and dwarves, I have a lot of them but don't mind even more. Also nice would be something a bit more modern than medieval fantasy, but without becoming contemporary. Something Steampunk-ish or Carnival Row-ish. Maybe something Jules Verne-esque, such as Around the world in 80 days or 20K leagues, or from Earth to the Moon…

But, if you insist on making us download the files every month, I strongly suggest MyAirBridge. It's stunningly fast, at least on my connection. I downloaded a 6GB file recently in seconds, and I spent a few minutes verifying the download because i couldn't believe it had downloaded without errors.

These Greek God sculpts are truly marvels, amazing quality, but their usability seems fairly limited to me due to their specific resemblance of established figures.

Also, King Arthur is actually a Celtic (Welsh) myth, the actual guy was probably a Romano-British general who ran around ambushing a bunch of Saxons when they invaded. That's not to say I have any interest with the King Arthur theme cause I know it'll go high medieval which I find kinda boring. Celtic, shall we say non romanised Celtic myths however are incredibly interesting, not only is there little in terms of minis out there, but there's an incredibly rich culture to draw on in the form of Irish myth. (Candlelit Tales or the Irish mythology podcast are good places to start). We've got evil druids with supreme political power, warrior Kings and Queens riding into battle on their chariots, a headhunting society where slingshot ammunition was made from the hardened brains of slain opponents and The Morrigu, a Raven themed triple goddess of war who transforms into a Raven and rains fire and blood to sap the morale of whatever side of battle she disfavors. I could go on but this is to say the Celts are awesome and need more representation in the mini world cause the imagery is simply stunning

Otherwise some High Elves (Lord of the Rings) wouldbe great too, they seem unpopular but cant find any good models for them. Would be nice to see what you would do with them. In the end Im all in as long as its not always the same (looking at vampires, undead, demons, etc.)

However I'm definitely not into the King Arthur or Robinhood stuff. It feels very...um...bland (sorry!) or like there wouldn't be much variety for an entire set, especially with the size of your tiers now. Just a million knights and rangers and maybe a questing beast. I think I'd tip my hat and unsub. If you're on the mythology train I will suggest Mesoamerican and Native American offerings again. The comment above for Russian folklore was really good too, I think that could be super unique. I'm a nut for Egypt so I'll toss that into the ring as well (although less emphasis on mummies please, how about some living Egyptians for once!). I was going to cross my foolish little fingers for cryptids but then it kind of hit me that I haven't seen any dinosaur or prehistoric sets out there! I've seen Amazonians but I wouldn't call that dinosaur themed. But maybe something almost Land of the Lost inspired? What I'm getting at is dinosaurs would be cool!

But to be honest, any platform that would allow us to access the files after the end of the month would be great, and I am glad to hear you are working on a solution. With regards to theme for May: King Arthur's Court/high medieval would be great, but I would also love to see your take on orcs or a near-Eastern mythology like Babylonian.

But if you are looking to break up releases a little, maybe something like Wizards? With familiars and summoned creatures? Or Goblins? I love the little chaos beasts. Also would be excited to see Orcs.

2021-03-22 14:29:04 +0000 UTCSync may be a bit finicky if you try to use it at the top level, but with some practice and reading, i find it super reliable. . However Google is SO much worse, and i refuse to patreon any creator that uses it exclusively. MMF is a bit unpolished and needs a better interface but it ALWAYS works for me despite being a pain to navigate. Hopefully you guys can find a good solution that works for everyone.
