DnD Campaign idea: The Attack of the Cute Spider
Added 2020-05-03 13:00:02 +0000 UTCYou probably know it by now: our next release, for the month of May, is about eight-legged beasts! Now imagine that you’re a graphic design artist for Heroes Infinite. You really enjoy all sorts of monsters and creatures, but you absolutely hate spiders, also known as arachnophobia. It means that your daily work this month is going to include giant spiders.
So when our graphic designer Claudia understood she was trapped to work on spiders for a whole month, she came out with campaign rules:
- rule 1 - All, absolutely all spiders are bad
- rule 2 - All are deadly, some kill you with their poison, others with fright.
- rule 3 - All deserve to die. Don't come to me with that shit about reincarnation.
Then another colleague came up with:
- rule 4 - If she's cute, adopt her

Claudia suggested the following strategy:
- If she is cute apply rule-1, then rule 3
Now according to you, what could be rule 5? And 6 ?
Don’t you think we should roll a dice after 4 to decide how the spider adventure will continue?
Would you protect the cute spider? Or will you help Claudia in the quest to fight them all?
Post your suggestions in comments!

I know where at least 3 spiders live in my house right now. 2 are the black jumping spiders and one is a little brown house spider, all harmless. They pay for room and board with bugs eaten. We live and let live. Wolf spiders and Black Widows go outside, Brown Recluse are the only ones I kill on sight.

2020-05-03 15:50:56 +0000 UTC5. Spiders have an innate power of illusion, fueled by fear. When observed by an arachnophobic, the illusion will bestow a -10 cuteness penalty on the spider, and instead increase it's apparent size to at least 1 ft tall. 6. All spiders will have woven at least one thread of silk across your path at the same height as your head.

2020-05-03 13:09:54 +0000 UTCIf DMing has taught me anything it has taught me that if it can be tamed it will be tamed and that if it should not be tamed they may still attempt to tame it. So if there is a cute spider. They WILL TRY to tame it.
