The Last Samurai

Ken Watanabe in this is one of my favourite performances of all time, what a movie. If your looking for a war movie and enjoyed the music in this I would highly recommend 'The Thin Red Line'. Another fantastic film with music done by the same composer Hans Zimmer ( A beast in his own right ).

Id say try the Mission Impossible films 1 and 3. They are the best imo. There are just too many and most feel the same but for MI 1 set the standard and MI 3 had Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was amazing in that role.

Once again great reaction Dev! I knew you would love this movie that’s why I voted on it for you to watch because I just knew it would resonate with you. This movie is basically a more modern spin on the movie “dancing with wolves”. If you like stuff related to samurai that’s based in action and realism and just good gravy sword fighting you really got a check the movie out 13 assassins. I know you will like it! Also every time I watch this movie or hear this movie I can’t help but think of that one Dave Chapelle show skit with Paul Mooney where he’s a movie critic. And they talk about the last samurai and Paul Mooney says something along the lines of “The Last Samurai Starring Tom Cruise? Last time i checked that man ain’t asian! That’s like making a movie called the last n*gga on earth starring Tom Hanks!” Shit always has me busting out laughing whenever I think about it.

Excellent review of a damn good movie. Recommend you follow it up with Russell Crowe in Cinderella Man or Tom Hardy in Warrior. Both exceptional movies depicting individual fighters. One a boxer and the other a MMA fighter.

Hey Dev, I haven't tuned in to watch yet but I have a slight suggestion. When you are writing out the instructions to watch the video can you please let us know where you rented/purchased the film from? That way we know what version of the film to purchase so we can watch along without getting desynced.
