This isn't a movie.... It's an experience. You gotta read the book Dev... It will leave you speechless. I have a big connection to this conflict due to my favorite uncle. He was a door gunner for the Helicopter DIVs. He did four tours.... He is something else. Everytime I hear about this battle/book/film this feeling inside of me arises up and not a time goes by where I think about my uncle and just try to hold back my tears... The raw emotion that rises up in me over him is indescribable.

I know I am late, but I loved this reaction. As someone that lives in a major military area though I am not in, I have a deep connection and respect for those that serve and from what I understand in vet circles especially the Vietnam ones Joe Gallaway (the reporter) is well respected and treated as one of there own because he wasn't just a reporter that showed up at the end, he decided to go into hell with them, and even though he only did it once (i think) it garnered him a lot of respect which I see as a trend throughout this movie, the Sgt Major and the Sgt that lead the trapped platoon, at the start of the movie he was dismissive of the Sgt. but once he was in the thick of it the Sgt Major acknowledged the kind of day it was, and even the General of the NVA was treated with respect, He was the leader of the attack on the French, and was bested by the Americans and while he knew that they would win the war, he also knew thousands of young men on both sides were going to die, and he "gave" the Americans the win by putting the flag back because he respected there bravery and how they fought. In fact in 1993 Moore and a group went back to that valley for a reunion, and the general from the other was there as well, both he and Moore became friends because of not only the respect but the amount of men they lost that day. https://www.army.mil/article/79140/ia_drang_valley_veterans_attend_ranger_reunion#:~:text=Now%2090%20and%20in%20failing,forces%20at%20Ia%20Drang%20Valley. this is a great article about the battle and those that took part

I'm really glad that you enjoyed watching my movie reaction and I appreciate you notifying me about the title

Incredible reaction man. Thank you. And thank you so much for your service. I'll be forever grateful. Also, I still cannot forgive that people didn't celebrate their return back home after such a terrible war that we didn't gain anything good from. So many of them suffered for years and even decades after, with little to no help. So many young men got their lives taken from them, didn't matter whether they returned dead or alive. Absolute tragedy. I'll never forget what all veterans did and continue to do for all of us. Thank you all. 🤝
