Unfortunately, I didn’t get the greatest news, but I got SOME good news. My surgeon only wants to remove half of my thyroid to preserve the other side since it has no mass on it. The mass on my left side has unfortunately grown by .5cm and that’s a cause for concern, which is why my surgeon wanted to do the surgery today, if possible. My insurance didn’t give a PA for today, however, so we need to wait on insurance to schedule the surgery.

Thankfully, the cancer has not metastasized to my lymph nodes or anywhere else they checked, so I’m grateful for that. They did check my vocal cords and there are small nodules, but those could be due to my strain doing vocal work, due to acid reflux, or due to hypothyroidism. I’ll keep you all updated once the schedule coordinator reaches out to me ❤️
