unlike with other characters I feel less confident that Joe will ever love may as much as he did the Melinda episode in season 2. I can't imagine the show without her but will wait and see. I find it a bit odd that he thinks may is OP but not ward since they are both *just* human. wish I could see Brett Dalton interact with the cyber nerds when all is said and done.

love this sentiment. I think that's why the show is so eminently rewatchable. corn/cheese factor is entirely tolerance based, I think. reading comics in the 80s marvel comics had similar story arcs and just as with shield I ate it up with a spoon.

Definitely, and even some of cheesier stuff can come back to bite characters once the writers make their move. It’s not flawless, but they up their game in some aspect every season.

next few episodes bring things together nicely. might need to go rewatch em right now

I've often said that AOS is very much a long game of chess. Set up the pieces, make opening moves, a few pawns are exchanged, all the while there is a much larger and developing strategy that is hidden until it's revealed. Eventually, every single episode matters.
