It’s crazy how the 1995 version of MK was cheesy all over the place barely any special abilities or moves, sub zero killed by a pail, reptile thrown into a statue and came to life, Sonya Blade trash fighting scene, killed Kano with her girl region, but we’re killing this movie hahahaha y’all are wild, Zach Snyder can’t do every film.

should do a watchalong for MK: Annihilation (haha) with drinking rules – For every character introduced or mentioned in the film, take a drink. – For every special move or fatality or trademark move, take a drink. – Every time someone says MORTAL KOMBAT!, take a drink. – Any time the Mortal Kombat theme is played, take a drink.

As far as the Storytellng goes, I would say that the 1995 movie had a better Storyline, for sure. The Budget seems to be about the same amount of money spent on the 1995 movie, if you consider inflation and all dat and i honestly enjoyed the 1995 movie more than this movie, but this one wasn't horrible, it's just BAD. It seems like "they" never really spent the time and quality into making a really in depth Mortal Kombat Movie, for real.

Alright after watching it three times, this movie had bad writing and bad post production editing. The VFX were great, the fighting was actually good but it appears a lot of the time it was diminished by bad cuts. On hearing Shang Tsung’s plan to kill the champions before the tournament I knew the plot wasn’t going to include the tournament. I mean cmon, if you’re a MK fan you should know full well from all the marketing that you can’t make a tournament movie without Shao Khan, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Skarlet and other fan favs. So plot wise I knew from that point this movie was more about spectacle and demonstrating potential for sequels to satisfy the studio and provide tonnes of Easter eggs for the fans. The writing and editing is an easy fix for sequels, just hire better talent. The other pieces are there so while I agree with all the critique from the guys on story, I’m not distraught or disappointed to the scale of saying this is a dumpster fire. This is just the beginning of a massive franchise. Let them learn. Raven cracked me up this watchalong though, the Johnny Cage callout, the dancing at the end looool you man are jokes

Disappointed because the movie had a lot of potential. Like most people, adding Cole is my biggest gripe. Could've easily put Cage or damn near any other existing character and revolved it around them. Fight scenes were on point but they left a lot on the table and put some shit that didn't belong on it too.

You'd think with the way superhero movies and sci-fi movies have had excellent premises/storylines and well written plots with loads of action recently have been thriving even in relation to WB franchises like Dark Knight and MCU. Mortal Kombat of 2021 would have followed suit. Then again, I don't think a lot of people went in with high expectations for an excellent storyline other than peak fights, fatalities, brutalities etc. The movie gets a pass for characters like Kano, Sub-Zero and the fights. Hopefully they do better with the sequels storylines they have lined up already. Fun watch though if you're not looking for anything too serious. I can see Kano in Amazon's The Boys LOL.

Shit movie. Great reaction. I was laughing at the references and the constant ridicule. And raven dancing to the credits made everything so much better. Only the TCN could make me enjoy such a bad movie.😂

You men always bring it 100%, and we all know y'all are handsome... but how about making the picture box a little larger? Sometimes I feel like I need binoculars. EDIT... upon finishing the movie, I would have been okay with the box being smaller this time. Shit was weeeaaaak.

Okay where do we start it started off Good but then Why in the hell....wait let me compose myself. there were cool moments up until the training, then it was weird. WHY IS LIU KANG DO WEEEEEEAAAAAK, even the Liu kang from the first one would have put up a better fight. its like the whole scorpion thing would not have been so bad if the middle of the movie did not look like they didnt know what to do. Kung lao saved it for me with the fatality. I have more but im going to eat. looool see youtube

It’s MK lore that Kung Lao has to die. His death is what spurs lui Kang to become earthrealms champion. But the way he went out was soft! Apparently this is supposed to be trilogy with Pre Tournament, Tournament and then post Tournament, but I’d be surprised if they got a sequel 😂

Coming from a very late comer to MK. Of course I don't know all the material but honestly Cole's family getting killed by Goro would've made the most sense to me as far as unlocking his arcana because he would've defeated Goro out of revenge (or avenging their death idk) which is LITERALLY Hanzo's motive as far as this writing goes. And don't get me started about Jax's MK11 special given to Cole. The movie's subpar. Scorpion and Sub Zero were really thrilling highlights for me though.

So glad you guys thought the same as me. So many people think it’s great but it was soo poor. The reason they let everyone see the first 7 minutes was cause that was the best part. Corny dialogue, really bad editing and poor script. Only bit that was fun was some of Kanos lines and the fatalities. Bad film, but great watchalong.

I think it’s time we talk about WB getting brought out by Disney or something because they obviously don’t know what to do with these amine/superheroes movies 💯
