Ok. So I watched the show and part of your review. And I’m an idiot. I loved 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch and I enjoyed moments from the DC films, but only on an aesthetic level. The style over substance argument holds up in certain films, but I think it’s more that there are stories that fit his approach to cinematography and visual style, and some that don’t. As for the connection to this series I feel the writing is much stronger and the characters are much more interesting. I care about what’s happening. Yes there’s a nod from a creative point of view but in many others areas, especially with character development, this show is succeeding with this story, where Snyder sadly failed. I know it’s not entirely his fault but he should fight for better scripts.

Nice one. Been waiting for this. I was surprised how much I liked the show. Good casting, good writing. Let’s see if they can keel it going.
