Should We Do an Extra Issue This Year?

Currently we're working on NF Issue #41, which is set to be labeled as "September/October 2019" in keeping with the bi-monthly publishing schedule we've held to ever since the magazine started six and a half years ago. But we're considering breaking from tradition and doing two separate issues to cover that same span of time instead, which would make Issue #41 simply be the "September 2019" issue and then Issue #42 would be "October 2019."
This wouldn't be a permanent change! Since NF began, fans have been asking us to go monthly, making 12 issues a year. If we tried to do that, though, we'd all get burned out really quickly. A much more manageable idea is to simply step things up by a single notch: Putting out seven new issues each calendar year instead of six.
And if we were to make the shift to seven issues a year instead of six, it would make sense for the extra one to appear in the September/October time frame that's fast approaching – that's the time of year when there are more new releases to cover than any other.
If you're in favor of this change, please vote accordingly in the poll posted here. If you're against it and want things to stay exactly as they have been, let us know that too. On the one hand, you'd get more NF! On the other, it would mean seven charges to your credit card over the course of each calendar year instead of six. I don't want to bamboozle anyone or surprise anyone with another charge they weren't expecting.
If we do move forward with this idea, Issue #41 will have the Dragon Quest theme, Dragon Quest XI world map and Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening wall poster as already planned. Issue #42 would then be a Halloween-themed edition with Luigi's Mansion 3 on the cover, a Luigi's Mansion 3 wall poster and probably another October-appropriate game on the reverse side of the poster, like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Whether we do one or two issues for the September/October time frame, the normal schedule will be restored afterward, with the next issue being "November/December 2019," the one after that being "January/February 2020" and so on.

Maybe do a Christmas special where fans can send in stories of favorite christmas games or family moments around game/console releases?

I would love to see a Halloween edition of the issue that covers mainly on Luigi's Mansion 3 and the game is announced officially to release on Halloween, so what a great timing! You guys make this magazine great, so keep up the good work.

Can’t see a down side to getting a extra one this year. An extra 5 bucks isn’t much for all that you guys do for us. More ‘power’ to ya! (Or me in this case)

I don't feel the need to have an additional issue as you guys don't have enough content (or exclusives) to warrant another issue in my opinion. Reading the current issue, I'm skipping more content than reading it and to me having a 7th issue coming out with more filler in it than anything just to put something in the book. And honestly if this is going to be the way forward, then I'll probably look into cancelling my subscription then as I haven't been getting enough out of them to justify an additional $5 a year on top of what I'm already paying. Apologies if I'm one of the few dissenting voices around here, but I want my voice to be HEARD regardless if it's in the majority or not. Thanks.

The more posters I can get of my favourite series/games the more happy I will be. It's going to be tough to decide on September's poster. I want both on my wall! Haha. As mentioned, this is probably a good timeframe for an extra issue with so much content coming out for the Switch.

Hope this trend continues, but don't burn out. I don't know how you get all the content in the issues as it is already. Look forward to seeing what is ahead for Nintendo Force.

Special holiday edition issues (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) are always really cool, and it would be awesome if you guys try doing some from time to time! I like the current bi-monthly release schedule a lot, but I would also definitely approve of you guys shifting from six issues per year to seven issues per year as long as you guys can handle it. I really wouldn't want any of you guys to burn out, so if it's too much for you guys to handle, six issues per year is still great.

Why stop there? Add another one so we get a November issue and a December issue. A lot of games come out in November and you could do a Christmas special

I'm actually in the middle of playing Bloodstained now, though for the Xbox One, and it's great. I do think I'll get it on the Switch as well at some point.
