Fortnightly Progress Report - 13/5/22

Fortnight over, got a whole bunch of stuff to talk about.
So, when I last posted, we were getting to the meaty end of texturing, and I took a break to get more technical work done - First of which was the LODs.
I started with the first Step LODs, and on my own dime I did the further compressed and less detailed ones by semi-automation.
I then set about the Shadow LODs, which in concept are basically the First LOD iteration, but with as much detail removed so that only the silhouette remains. So that took a day or so, given the number of parts that wasn't so bad. Actually rolling them out took another day.

Then Tragedy-
I accidentally deleted the config file for the SCARs, unrecoverable.
This may have been devastating to a normal mortal, but to an idiot savant like myself, I took the opportunity to rebuild them, better and stronger.
Better how? More organised, more less unnecessary lines, properly documented and formatted. Just a whole lot more readable.
Surprisingly, it took just over a work day to get back 1400 lines, get all the guns back in the game, and in some cases, in better, closer to done than before.
All in all, pretty pleased with it.
So, coming off the back of that, I decided the next task was to start working on the animations, which if we were to just stick to a block overview is what's occupied me all this week. If we're to go into detail however....
So, the SCAR-L animations were done as of.. like a year ago. Done-done. Not Exported, but done. I needed the SCAR-H, Mk17IUR-762x39 and if we're being honest, the SSR, with their own variations. So, this week that's what I've done, and not just done the character animation- I've got them in-game too. Well, except the 7.62x39- I finished that of today. So, like check it, Gifs and video time.

I've got to finish off the animation configs for the 7.62x39 anims, but once they're done, it's back to texturing and we're finishing off this bitch.
