Progress Report - 20/11

Hey everyone, so before I get into filing you all /recapping how the last few months have been, I kind of just want to start off by kind of borrowing into Patreon's internal branded hashtag event.. somewhat.. and take the opportunity to thank you, all of you, for being patrons. Not that I haven't said before, but you've allowed me to do a hell of a lot without the strings that come from doing what I do from either hobby or traditional commercial work... And on a more personal level you have materially changed my life. So... Thank you.

As a rider to this, I do kind of want to apologize for the last few months of progress, as it's been slower than anticipated/.. and that come down to right now how busy I've now become. I currently have 6 ongoing projects I'm working on with; 2 that require weekly investment, a third at the stage where I'm just sinking hours into one task (because there's just so much ground to cover) and the other 3 just sitting waiting till I can get the former task to the same point and I can get onto the next phase with all of them.
I'm actually beyond capacity, when it comes to workload now frankly - to keep up the pace I'm trying to slide in extra work in the evenings if I have enough spoons for it.

I guess the point is, like right now everything feels like work, and none of it seems to stretch as far as I'd like, and that makes me feel kind of guilty about my inability to turn in results for it.... and under that context, I really do sincerely appreciate you all for chipping in.

Woof

Okay -on to what's actually been happening

XM8 Rifles

Right so, the XM8s are now at the point at UV mapped, but not before I finished them off... which included some Extra parts.

Amongst the parts now complete there is the Prototype Compact Foreend, the PCAP Flashlight, the PCAP VFG, The pre-Insight Prototype Red Dot, the ISM-1400-IR (Rail version of the ISM- which is NOT just a simple mount change)

I.. don't really have any amazing insights as to the hows and whys of it, but they're all done AND also UV mapped. so hooray for that. Here's pictures.

SCAR Rifles

Hokay, so as of last week I am now done on the SCARs. There is SO  Much SCARs it's actually kind of terrifying. 96 distinct parts. I'm about the third of the way through

You want to go through the parts I've done since last time? Sure, why not.

So you have the RE-SCAR Stock adapter, so you can mount AR-15 stocks to it.

Kinetic Development Groups ACR Stock Adapter, because people seem to like those on their rifles?

FN Rail Covers Full and Half-length.

Magpul XT, and XTM-E (To replace the ones that already existed)

Magpul Ladder Rail Covers

10 Round SCAR-H Magazine

PMM M-Lok Rail panels (Sides and bottom)

And last but not least, the FN EGLM. Because obviously that needed to be done.

Once again, having to scour REALLY hard for references for this thing, I have an immense appreciation of the design work that went into the mechanics of this thing, but also jeeez I do not want to have to make another. Please don't make me make another.

So where am I now? UV mapping 96 Scar parts. As it stands, I am about 25 pieces down. then I'll be merging down to individual maps.. then I'll need to do the Bake meshes for... literally everything. Then.. we can texture. Then We'll be done.

What have I done.

Toadie, out.
