I'm pretty sure the majority of you recognized what was sitting on my desk in the final shot of the most current video. But I thought I'd take a screenshot and post a breakdown of it for you anyway. So, here it is.
For the record, that's the actual desk, keyboard and monitor I use to create videos. Although, my desk is usually clear of distractions. I put those figures there just to fill out the shot. I was going to put comics on the wall behind the monitor to give myself more "street credit" but it was getting late (this was shot at 6:00 AM) and I wanted to get this done before the noise outside started trickling in.
More trivia: This was take two of three complete takes I did. The first take I nailed, but forgot to play the movie in the background on the monitor. Which I realized when I turned around to put on the headphones (which were turned off, by the way) to watch the movie. So I had to do another take. Then I did one more for safety. In total there was five or six takes. But the other two or three I messed up my lines or thought, "That didn't feel right."
Also, there's a hastily created, cheap ass cue card I have situated just out of frame. In the video you see me pause for a beat that's just a bit too long. That's because, in that second, I cut one line from the cue card and moved on to the next one. I thought that extra long beat made it look a bit more organic, like I was making this up off the top of my head. But I wasn't. I'm not that good.
